So kids, It's been awhile since I visited TW however I'm back looking at all the mods and tricks you youngsters are famous for as I have a new baby on the way and need to know how to feed and care for it. After 5 years and 2 months with my 2010 PreRunner, I decided to move on. It was a great truck and it served us well despite me being more of a blue car guy than red. We drove the 400 miles to Arizona many, many, many times during my mom's last years and I was able to hold her hand as her spirit found a way fucking better place to hang out than here with us yahoos. Not quite knowing what to do next, I packed up her things and loaded it all into the Taco for the long drive home with my amazing friend and furry kid Odus; who also moved on shortly after.

    IMG_1605.jpg

The truth is I always felt like the kid who never learned how to swim as he watches all his buddies run into the waves. Well no more of that shit! I'm going 4WD this time! The only thing I could find in a dbl cab-long bed in that rockin new blue paint had automatic butt wipe with heated seats and JBL, which is just fine. It took the help of a friend to find it and secure it and it'll take another 6+ weeks and a drive to Colorado to get it since not only do they not build what I want in Texas, but I couldn't get a TRD OR DC LB before August if they did. Thanx Colin. Looking forward to spending some time learning from you guys again and sharing some of my learning curve with the gang.

Thanx man. I'm good with moving on. I only felt that the story added to the new experience. I'm pretty excited about it which explains why I've been digging through the new threads for 12 hours.

I am sorry for you losses. There's no one who can replace our mothers man. Though we've had a close call, I'm lucky to still have mine but, I'm always aware the times we get to spend together are limited. I hope others can get some insight through your post that loved ones are what's really important in life. Gotta say your story got really hit home & reached me.

Pups too are special companions. I know I love mine.

Congrats on the truck. Look forward to seeing more of you on TW.

Thanx guys. I'm getting it from Pedersen Toyota in Fort Collins. A good buddy of mine works there now and has taken super good care of me jumping through hoops of fire to find it while holding my hand the whole way through the new car buying process. It's the first time financing something of this scale on my own and I needed to be schooled in the process.

Kind of similar story... lost my mom last April; new baby arrived 34 days later in May. Got back into a Tacoma, but opted for the '15. I dig the 3rd gen. though.

I was 40 last April when my mom passed. What did I learn? It's never easy to lose a parent...at any age. But you move on, simply because you have to.
