Popping sound on rough roads.. (cab mnt?)

i ment like a jb tack weld for the inside like yours haha for those without a mig welder. no more pop at all though? and wich of your bushings were slippin, colest to front bumper or rear? or both

 

I personally have no rock rails / sliders on my truck

 

No more pop at all. Been GREAT ever since. It was the front bushings on both sides.

 

rzimm001- How many miles did you have on your truck when you noticed this popping from the LCA bushings?

 

It had about 60k. I'm pretty sure the bushings becoming loose in the control arm housing was more related to abuse than mileage. The control arm hole where the bushing rests was clearly oval instead of circular . I would say some wheeling contributed to that.

 

To bump an old thread... It appears the bushing might not have been bad at all, but the hole was lose enough to allow it to move around? Might be putting some tack welds on mine, after the gopro inspection though. Thanks for the leg work!

@ 52sec. Does anyone know how much play these things should have normally? My bushings are not sliding around in the sleeves

@rzimm001 Hey bud, would this sound happen if you drove over a speed bump in an angel..? Say one tire at a time..? I'm having a similar problem and can't to find anything abnormal..?

 

I think most people can reproduce it at low speed just making sharp turns. Only way to know for sure is to point a camera at your bushings and drive.

 

@rzimm001 Thanks, yes that's my next step. I crawled under the truck yesterday and looked around. Everything looks to be in place "WTF" It's getting super annoying. I really want to see/know what the hell is happening and how I can resolve it.

 

Do you guys have problems with your vehicle wandering and jutting different ways as well when these bushings are bad? Did replacing them fix that problem if it was wandering?
