Started working on a small project recently and decided to share my progress. I've always liked the XSP-X style lights but they just looked to simple to justify spending that kind of money on them. I had spare trim pieces laying around so I decided to give it a shot and do it myself. Here's my progress so far.

Ordered a set of 12 piece 10mm LED eagle eye bulbs off Amazon for $12.

    image.jpg
I then made a template from a cardboard box. I measured the center of the trim and then 1 inch between 6 points. Keep in mind the trim piece isn't square so make sure to take measurements from the bottom to ensure a straight line.
    image.jpg
    image.jpg
I then taped the trim to keep from scratching the paint. Take the same measurements with the templates and mark them on the masking tape. Make sure to start the point by hand just enough to have a guide point for the drill to keep from possibly slipping or not lining up with the points marked. I used a 1/2' bit to give a little room to make adjustments to ensure a straight line.
    image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg
Next is to remove the back support lining to give the nut a flat surface to bite.
    image.jpg
Using a level lay the trim on a flat surface and adjust each bulb accordingly. Also measure each bulb from bottom to top to ensure straight alignment.

Will finish wiring install when weather permits.

Can't wait to see this completed. I was thinking about doing this and taping into the DTRL. So during the day I would have these LEDs on and then at night my "raptor" lights in my grill would be on.
