Hey guys, just got a CB for Christmas with a fire stick, anyone have a link or custom built CB antenna bracket that'll bolt on with minimal/no drilling? Behind the cab, the hood, rear bumper, tailgate... I'm not picky, so long as I'm not cuttin into my brand new truck.

relentless fab makes one that mounts to the hood brackets. Mine is mounted on drivers side, you should be able to see in my avatar. He is a vendor on this site...

I couldn't contain my excitement, I placed the order for a driver side mount. We'll see if I need to do some trimming or drilling. (of the mount of course, I'm not touching the truck!)

Update: Relentless got back to me via email, they tested the gen 2 bracket on a gen 3 and it didn't fit. They're expecting a gen 3 version next month, they're shipping me one when it's available. I'll post pics when it's installed!

Do you know if they'll make a passenger side one too? I'm not sure I could live with an antenna in my field of vision like in the pictures above.

Hey guys, I emailed Relentless 3 days ago, and got an immediate response. (Brittony at Relentless is very quick to reply and very friendly, great job!).

Here's a snippet of her response:

"We are just about to release the 2016 mounts. We are hoping to have them ready in a week or two. Once they are good to go I will be sending yours out first!"

I've already ordered mine in advance, so it's shipping as soon as it's done. I'll install ASAP and post pictures.

Sweet, I'd love to know how it installs, this is my currently preferable mounting location, though passenger side as I mentioned.

If you look at your driver side and passenger side hood where it would go, it looks like things would install alot smoother on the driver side... I agree it may get in the way a little... but I went with driver, we'll see!

Hey guys, received the CB mount this week and installed it in about 3 hours with my dad.

First I poked a hole in the boot on the driver side firewall. Cut slits in the hole to allow the fat Firestik K8R9, and pulled it through with a wire hanger.

    pull bc firewall.jpg IMG_4916.jpg IMG_4907.jpg

Then I installed the Relentless Fab CB hood mount.

    http://www.relentlessfabrication.co...s/2016-tacoma-hood-hinge-ditch-light-brackets

It was easy with my dad holding the hood in place. I primed and painted the bare steel, it turned out pretty clean. It's pretty much out of the field of view, I'm happy I went with the driver side (I was thinking long term for when I run wire for LED lightbars, etc. I wanted the fuse box and wires all run on the driver side).

    IMG_4931.jpg IMG_4930.jpg IMG_4928.jpg

I had a 12 port Blue Sea Systems fuse panel.

    IMG_4932.jpg

I did not want to commit to drilling into my truck, so I bought outdoor mounting tape and layered it on. (came out very stout, it's not going anywhere).

    IMG_4935.jpgFullSizeRender (2).jpgIMG_4948.jpg

Sat it right up next to the hood ditch. Now I can run all my accessories to that going forward.

    IMG_4939.jpg

Unbolted the two bolts on the inside of the center console, and popped up the center console from the back seat (it's held on by snap clips by the center cup holder).

I ran the CB power and antenna wire through the firewall, over the steering components, and through the center console to the back.

    IMG_4938.jpg

A drill wouldn't fit so I took turns with my dad hand drilling on the inside of the center console. We fished the CB antenna wire through the back of the center console piece, and through the hole.

    IMG_4944.jpg

I assembled the plate that came with my Cobra CB kit, and screwed it in. (the plate got warped a little when tightening, so we just smashed it back flush... that's why I wanted everything in the center console... out of sight, out of mind!).

    IMG_4959.jpg

    IMG_4965.jpg

    IMG_4961.jpg IMG_4966.jpg IMG_4968.jpg IMG_4970.jpg

Got full power on the CB and perfect clarity testing about 30 feet away from my dad's Jeep. Nothing on the interior of my truck is messed with other than in the center console, so it's still got that stock look inside! Overall very happy with Relentless's craftsmanship and customer service. The antenna is sitting pretty straight up and down though, I might take off the assembly and bend the tab back just a little bit (and maybe weld a gusset to the bracket for sturdiness). Definitely going to buy a 2 foot antenna instead of the three foot seen above.

Let me know what you guys think!

Took the mount off, tweaked it back a hair, and repainted and reinstalled it. I think the slight angle will look clean with a 2 foot firestik. image.jpg
