I have a 2016 TRD sport short bed 4 door and recently added a Lear 100XR shell. There is a design flaw in shell. Where shell is attached at front corners of truck bed there are two holes between shell and truck bed liner that you can put your finger through that let it rain. Any body else have this problem? My truck customizing shop recommends silicone the holes up, gonna do that unless somebody has a better idea.

Take that shit off an make them fix it.
You didn't spend 35k+ to put silicone on your truck.

    stuff
I would use auto weather stripping, and would attach it to the cap, not the truck.

I just went through this with a new Leer cap on a 2015. Leaking in the front corner. Dealer tried a lot of stuff but still leaked. Leer says it's a problem with Tacomas the way the front of the bed is lower than the sides and tailgate. Plus Leer said the way the bed caps, side bed and front of the bed intersect some Tacomas can't be sealed. That was enough for the dealer to stop trying. Dealer is refunding my money. They do a lot of Tacomas and not all leak.

Two dealers told me that the 2016s are worse to seal than the 2005-2015 the way Toyota tried to fix the problem made it worse.

    Good luck with Leer.

I would return the shell, Leer's customer service is horrendous. If you hear back, I'd be surprised.

Let the business you bought the shell from handle your issues with Leer, if they can't - get a refund.

Price of shell and installation. Most dealers won't do this. They have been in business for a long time and have a good installer. I have been dealing with them for a long time.
