Yea like I said, I have the idea in my head but still need to take more measurements and see if I can find the right piping to get it all done. Probably be to expensive to really make it worth it, but who knows, migjt come up with a fun idea that someone will want

Could you add some sort of electric fan to help suck air into the snorkel to bump the volume of air up...

Forced induction to help the forced induction :der:

Nah, its pretty much a ram air thing anyways up at roof level. I think most snorkels are 2.25 or 2.5" or so I think the 3" or larger will get plenty of airflow through. Plus I'll be enlarging the CAI tubing to match that as well. Pretty sure the CAI uses a 3"-2.5" reducers, Id have to go look

I'm talking of you were to eliminate the CAI an just have the snorkel.

But I like your idea the best. Have it on a switch so you can go back an forth. Have like an RC car servo operate the flap.

Yea Id rather keep both. The only other thing I could think of was to increase the piping size for everything to avoid the 'breathing through a straw' dilemna and just cut another hole in the side of the CAI box and run the snorkel through that. Just throw a cap over the fender hole when I want to run the snorkel.

But I'd rather do it the hard way and figure out how to make this work. Even if it costs a bunch of cash, if it works itll be pretty unique.

So, I've got most of the stuff saved in my Amazon cart for the prototype, shit, close to a grand in parts I think lol. Really wish I knew how to bend and weld aluminum lol. Like I said above, might not be worth it to try to sell, but it'll sure be interesting! Found a good 3"-4"-3" inline filter I can use on the scoop side line, with all of the connectors and filter and MAF attachment, not to mention getting it all welded lol. Hardest part will be to have the least amount of sudden bends. Only one I think will be going from engine bay to out of the fender.

There used to be a company that would send you tubes and you make your own intake and send it back. They weld it up and send it back.

Kinda an in progress mod, i got @CBI Offroad Fab ditch light brackets and Rigid pods
i got the brackets before the lights an couldn't wait to get them in so they are just there for a few more days my lights are scheduled to deliver on thursday:fingerscrossed:
heres a few shots of the install, passenger side was a cake walk.
driver on the other hand required some work. ended up using a file an making the hole about 1/2 bigger to get it to work. Other than that easy mod an so far i love the look.
