I got a couple of LED 6pack cubes to put in my new custom bumper. The plugs don't match my stock fog light wiring harness plugs, so I bought the correct plugs with pigtail to match the stock plugs. The new lights have black and red wires and the stock harness has white/purple and green/black wires. Does it matter which wire goes where in this case, can they be reversed with no issue? Thanks
Sorry to create another fog light thread, but I couldn't find one that directly addressed my issue.

If i had my guess the White and Green are positive and Purple and Black would be grounds. But it shouldnt hurt your lights to wire it up and test them, if it doesnt work switch them. LED are polar specific so it shouldnt be any big deal.

metrick1215 thanks for the reply. Sorry for the confusion. There are just two stock wires at this end, one is white and purple and the other is green and black. I have a 50/50 chance of getting it right, but will I do any damage if I get it wrong? Or will it work either way?

I just did mine this weekend and the wires I had coming from the truck were green and the second wire was white with a black stripe. The green was hot and the stripped was the ground. Hope this helps

OK thanks. Now I have to guess what the red and black wires are on my lights.

I would guess black is ground but not 100% on that
