    Yeah, about 800 miles each day, Monday and Tuesday. About 600 on Wednesday. Chilled out today though. Only about 400.

    Wow Tom, what an awesome trip! I traveled through there in January of 2013 and really miss how beautiful the dessert is. Travel safe!

    Thanks again, BTW, for taking the time to show us around southern WV last year. My fiancé grew up east of Beckley, so now I make it there pretty regularly.

    I had to laugh when I saw where you pulled off and spent the night just outside of St Louis. I think it was late 1989, and I was still racing dirt bikes. We were on our way to an enduro a few miles north of St Louis. We left the Louisville Ky area late on a Saturday afternoon. The plan was to spend the night closer to the Sunday race site. After what seemed like a million miles, we just had all the night driving we could stand. So just east of St Louis, we see a sign for a Best Western motel and pull in, get a room, and crash for the night. About 4AM, I wake up, look out the window and see our trailer door torn off the hinges, and 3 bikes GONE. It was then we figured out we were in East St Louis....The neighborhood made famous in the movie "Vacation" where Chevy Chase and family had their "Family Truckster" jacked up and the wheels stolen at a stop light. One of the highest crime rates of any city in America at that time.

    OBTW, Great trip, great photo's. Hope you had a good of a time as it looks like you are having!
