Have to cut off your driver side tow loop, which is arguably a bad idea, angle plates weld to front edge and bottom edge of front frame cross member where factory recovery points are located. Perfect alignment with TRD skidplate.

Shipped the new set, still have the free set that i'll be removing sometime around Jan 1st. I'll post some pics when I get them off and cleaned up. If someone wants them before then I'll get them off sooner. Shipping from KY to MN was $10.15 for an idea of shipping cost.

Once again, decoration only, no implied warranties or liability :anonymous:

    They're going on Friday.

Sawed off the drivers-side tow hook. I also had to trim an inch or so off of the stock plate on both sides. It was interfering with the anchors - pushing them out too far to the sides. The shackles wouldn't have hung right.

With the TRD plate on, I held the anchor + shackle up to the frame, and I think these anchors sit too far back. The shackle hangs very close to the rear of the TRD plate opening, and I expect it would bang like crazy. I talked to my welder/mechanic about it, and he's going to weld a 1" spacer plate onto the frame, and then weld these anchors to the plate. That should push the shackle forward an inch - and it should clear the hole much better.

Did you have issues with this?

I wonder if they're small differences between our model year.

I think it was really close to the back of the hole in the plate on mine, if it ever did bang around I didn't hear it or it didn't bother me. A spacer should work, sorry you have to do it that way.
@taczilla is going to have the same issue I guess.

The guy didn't seem to think it was too big of a hassle - and he argued more metal means it would be stronger. It's all a bit more pain in the ass than I was expecting, but in the end it should give me two solid shackles right where I want them, and still cheaper and a hell of a lot less weight than a Mobtown bar.

Oh, and I took your anchors to a dedicated weld shop (who ended up telling me they don't work on vehicles) and he looked at it and said you did a really good job welding those up.

When I first made mine I considered running one piece of angle across the whole front and welding both mounts to that. Seemed like overkill, but I agree that it would be stronger (and probably still much lighter than the others).
Angle is some alloy, shackle mount is A2, ground in and fused with TIG torch then TIG with high speed steel rod. Piled it up
Hope you like them, if I design/fab any more they'll cost double lol

I already thought of the spacer requirement. I'm putting shackle isolators on mine all the same.

I wanted the Mobtown bar, but after thinking about it (and listening to the wife for once), I couldn't justify the cost for a front hitch that I would barely use, and the added weight on my suspension for two shackles.

Good to hear about the welds. Did the shop elaborate on why they don't work on vehicles?

... and still waiting for mine. Delivery guys must have stopped to rest and feed the dogs on the way up to Canada.

LOL, how are things in the great north country? My Ex was Canadian, her folks lived near Peterborough Ontario, we married at Kawartha Lakes Ontario. Don't miss her, but Canada is beautiful.

Don't fucking ask... -20 C and winter weather is starting late because of our friend El Nino. I'm just south of Peterborough.

That's 32*F... freakin' t-shirt weather. I've got the wood stove hopping and it's toasty inside, but it'll freeze the balls off a brass monkey with the windchill of - 32*C at the moment. My little dog took one look outside earlier and changed his mind about having a piss, and he doesn't have balls.

    ... but we hijack.

I'll post up pics in my build thread when installed.

Done. Love the final outcome. Thanks, Beer!

Added a 1/2" spacer plate to the frame, which pushed the anchor out to about the perfect spot imo. Going a full inch would have pushed the shackle pin too close to the skid plate, making removing the pin too difficult.

Before I had my frame replaced, I had 2 hooks. The new frame only has 1 hook.

I'm sure it's different with each shackle/anchor, but using those Daystar spacers on this setup makes the shackle fit really tight, so it doesn't swing at all. It's nice. No banging around.
