    Dunno.

I was just replying about the possibility of installing them correctly - there's only one way they fit into the arm, so that's not a possibility.

Pour Windex or similar on a rag til sopping wet, lift wipers and rub well. Pour more on the rag and wipe the windshield well.

Flush with water and turn the wipers on with the water still flushing the windshield.

Even new wipers 'age' on the shelf, then if not cleaned before use some of the gunk transfers to the windshield.

If that doesn't work let me know, and I will refund this post.

I will give that a try. Rain is scheduled all week so I should get a good test. I have a blade on my desk and looking at it there is only one way that the swivel part in the blade frame will clip into the hook arm with the hole. I also checked to make sure I had the longer one on the driver side. If I still get squeaks I will go back to the dealer.

I tried this and got it out in the rain for the first time yesterday. It worked like a charm. Wipers are totally silent as they should be. Thanks for the tip.

Good tips here. I too have used Anco or whatever for years. My last truck was a GMC Sonoma I owned for 13 years and 200k miles (hoping the Tacoma exceeds that!). Anyway that one had 2 part numbers, passenger side not only longer, but had extra curve. I bought my first dealer blades, originally around $12, near $20 in recent years, though they did finally come out with an insert at $20 a pair. Insert wasn't readily obvious, you had to bend a metal clip to get them out.

Those blades always outperformed any others by far. Cheapos might last 3 months, OEM at least a year or more silent and streak free.

The Tacoma wipers have worked so flawlessly since new, I'll likely try OEM. Just now starting to think about it at 15 months and 22k miles.

Thanks for the Windex tip too. I'll try that especially on Dads car still super streaky and still noisy as described above in pouring rain after new blades yesterday, although I'm sure he got the cheapest at Autozone.

You're welcome. I always clean a new blade before install, makes it a lot easier.

I like the Goodyear blades that Costco carries. Only about $7 each. I run them on all my cars.

Bosch Icons are the best. Used them on my old SUV and got em again for my truck. Work great in all conditions, especially blizzards and freezing rain in my experience driving all over new england in the winter.

Well, I spoke too soon. I took the truck out in the rain again yesterday and they started squeaking again.

Sorry, missed this til now. If the blade is new and clean, then you must have a film of something on the glass. Clean the hell out of it with a strong glass cleaner. Try vinegar and water half and half, with a good shot of Dawn in it.

Honestly I've never had any trouble with Windex and a bit of elbow grease. Good luck.

They don't have real Auto parts houses anymore. I worked in a shop / parts store when I was a teen and we had a couter full of paper catalogs to look up parts...

True dat. The last mom and pop parts store in my city closed last week. So all we have how are NAPA, Autozone and Advance. I don't think the issue is catalogs vs. computers it is too many kids behind the counters who don't seem to want to be there and lack the basic social courtesies I was taught. Man, at 66 I am really turning into a grumpy old man.

I wouldn't over think it too much. I bought the Bosch blades once because I read how amazing they were. And , well they wiped away water from my windshield. Same as my $3.99 wiper blades did. I really recommend Rain-X. When I'm driving 40mph or more the wind literally blows the raindrops off my windshield.

All I am looking for is blades that don't squeal like the OEM originals that lasted 7 years. I might buy a set of cheapies just for grins.

I would not buy the Costco Goodyear wipers. I have them currently and am very dissatisfied. Under 60mph and they work fine, but anything over and the wiper lifts just enough that the blade no longer has a smooth wiping motion on the windshield. It basically stutters along the window and is nearly useless. Trico and Bosch's high end wipers that are near $30 are the best I've seen. I have a set of Bosch Icons on my wife's car and she never complains that they have any problems. O'Reilly's will sometimes have coupons or deals for wipers too.
