gotcha. i guess the thing to do now would be to decide if i want 18" wheels and never be able to have the tires that i want since theyre extremely hard to get tires for. OR to run 1.5" wheel adapters and hope and pray that they hold up.....shit

(just incase anyone was curious on what i ended up doing)
i ended up grinding down my tie-rod ends a little to increase the gap between them and the wheel :crapstorm:

    Not a good idea.

The tie rod end strength is now compromised and what is going to happen when / if the ball socket decides to come loose going 75 MPH down the highway?

    I wish you luck.

Please post a picture, I would love to see it.

Nightmare would've been a dream if you followed instructions.

Bed is made, I hope it's comfortable.

How is it a nightmare when you ignored the requirements?

i was told by the guy at the shop (which is very reputable where i live) that i would be ok with 17s instead of 18s. they installed the lift and when i got home and started looking under the truck i noticed this issue. i wanted to keep my 17s being that the tire selection is very limited for 18" wheels. so i ground down the tie-rods

Go on Rock Auto and see if there's an aftermarket tie rod end from Deeza, Beck Arneley, Moog, etc. with a lower-profile cup. Some mfrs use a one-piece machined cup instead of the two-piece OEM design.
