    Hey guys,

I'm located in Ohio and I found a 1998 Toyota Tacoma sr5 2.7L 5 speed 4x4 xtracab with 213k miles, black in color in North Carolina. The guy is asking $3,700. It has been repainted once the same as the original color, not sure why. He says there is no rust and only one dent below the passenger door. He will send me pictures tomorrow. He's a 61 year old who purchased it in 2003 with 73k miles (2nd owner of it). He says it has a newer clutch and only needs all new tires; everything else is good.

My question is, is this a great deal or am I missing something???

Let me know what you all think! I'm ready to take a 19 hour round trip with a trailer and pick it up as a project truck or just sell it for profit?

    Thanks,
    Karl

I wouldn't worry about the repaint, the clear coat peels off on these trucks just from old age so its common to need painting so its good it has fresh paint.

just fully test all the functionality of the 4wd very closely to be sure its good

Get a carfax maybe? Also I would ask what if any maintenance has been done...water pump timing belt etc. But that sounds like a good price to me forsure if it all is good to go.

I'll try to get more information on it when I can (hopefully tomorrow!) and post pics when I get them

Sounds like a scam. Never go into a deal hungry.

and if it wasn't a scam sound good to me plus it is going to become a project truck or parts anyways.

Good point. If the engine and frame is good, you could make some money on a part out. There are guys that would give their left nut for a rust free frame.

Is there a reason Why it is being sold??

Something to think about "As far as he knows everything is good"

The fact that he did not say it has a (brand clutch ) 5000 etc miles ago

What are you expenses going that far??

That needs to be figured into the price .

Owner will not reply. Thinking it was a scam or he croaked.
