'15 DRL Led Question

On my '15, the drl's are a 4157 with ck socket. I purchased switchbacks and installed them last night. However, I noticed that the always illuminate amber unless I turn on the headlights then they will turn white. When the headlights are on, they operate correctly in that they light up white, but blink amber.

My goal was to replace the drl amber with a white light that still blinks amber. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to wire it up differently in order to have this ability?
