Hey i was just wondering for you out there who had headers on their 4cyl if it was worth it? I dont expect much horsepower gain, but maybe a deeper growl sound and as a cosmetic touch. I was looking at the Doug Thorley tri-y headers. Just wondering about your experience with them!

Hi, I just installed the LCE header on my 2.7 a few weeks ago. It's a 2015 4x4 5-speed access cab. The header made no change in sound, and the gains are minimal, however I feel the driveability is much better. Especially between shifts, it no longer has any hesitation until the rpms build. Even from a stop it gets up and goes much better than stock. Hope this helps!

IIRC Tooter had more low/mid TQ with this header and dyno proof

I've just recently installed the Doug Thorley tri-y headers. It has eliminated the mid-ranged flat spot. When you gun it, their's a lot of cylinder popping sounds, but it's quiet when your cruising. If you want noise change your muffler to an aftermarket muffler.

Went to a muffler shop and told them of the noise. They found out using a mechanic's stethoscope. I had an exhaust leak at the header flange. He welded the catalytic converter piece onto the header flange. It's now very quite, do love the performance I'm getting!

The odd thing about these headers. When I bolted them in place was the two bolt flange holes. They were off about 1/8 of an inch and it was angle a hair differently. Looking at the 14mm bolts they provided and the existing OEM side the holes were larger, because of the springs sat in the hole. Thorley provided new 14mm bolts & nuts inform me to discard Toyota spring and bolts. I did, but in doing so I developed an exhaust leak at that flange. After numerous trips and a new muffler. Finally went to another muffler shop, he immediately found the exhaust leak. Told me the flange isn't lineup and suggested welding the exhaust pipe directly to the header flanged. It took care of the leak. I'm upset about why there wasn't a better way to mate the calitatic conver flange and the aftermarket flanged. Maybe a bushing to take up the space on the OEM side.

It's one header, not headers. Just something that is a pet peeve of mine.
