Thanks again, I guess if I go with this MT I'll just have to gamble on the fuel mileage in comparison to the AT.

I have that exact truck, and I get about 18-19 hwy and 15-16 city. Everything stock except sliders...which are heavy, so that may hurt a little as far as MPG. You'll love that truck if you get it though. I'm so happy with my decision to get a manual. Good luck!

Payback on that would exceed the life of the truck

Eco boost is biggest fallacy in real world driving. Once those turbos kick in MPGs drop way off. Now people who have a real light foot do a lot better. From what I have heard if you own an Eco boost it is real hard not to utilize the power. People with GMs probably get closer to advertised numbers

I have a 6 speed MT in my TRD Pro double cab. No major mods in the way of bigger tires or lift, just a snugtop cap. I regulary drive from San Fran to LA. About a 400 mile trip. And consistently turn 19 - 19.5 mpgs. It is the best I can get even babying the throttle and shifts. But 19 is a lot better than the 14-15 I was getting in my Tundra 5.7.

I drive an 05 dcsb mt TRD sport.

I usually get 15/16 mpg around town, and I drive fairly hard and have duratracs in 265/70/17. On the highway I usually get high 17s mpg cruising at 65mph or so. I could certainly do better (18/19) if I drove slower and was easier on the throttle, but I personally enjoy driving too much to worry about burning gas.

When I had stock wheels and tires, I consistently hit 20mpg on a cross country trip with cruise control set at 55/60 mph.

My 2015 6spd gets around 14-15 mpg in the city (at 7000 feet) but then I get anywhere from 15-20mpg on the highway. Depends on how good of a mood I'm in while driving..

I'm also running a 2.5" lift with 285/75-16 GY Duratracs.
