What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

What brackets did you use for your light bar to come off the roof rack?

 

Recently on my 2008 Tacoma, Desert Sand Mica, I had the original hood replaced with one that has a hood scoop.

For starters the Desert Sand Mica color is not as common as most other colors and other than it not being such a common color on Tacoma's, let alone one having a hood-scoop along with it!

So far I've only seen just three other pictures of Desert Sand Mica colored Tacoma's with a hood-scoop posted on here and no others (they can be viewed on post # 58; 246; 304, 310 & 311 here....https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/desert-sand-mica-tacomas.19409/ )

Got out of the gym Yesterday and found that my front end didn't look straight. Took it in to get an alignment and apparently I have an eagle eye. I was out 1/8" on my toe. I got them to correct the camber and caster as much as they could with stock arms and a 2.5" lift. Didn't realize that the last shop that did my alignment never gave me caster. I was at 0.8 degree's on one wheel. They were able to get me to 1.3 and 1.4 but I need Upper control arms to get it further.
I apparently had a pull to the left pretty hard and so far the truck drives WAY better. I have plans on getting a 4 inch kit sometime later this year but first is motor and transmission mods. This will do till then.

 

It's weird how one truck varies to the next, my 2.5" lift was able to be aligned perfectly with more adjustment left in it. I work in the auto service industry and watched them do it too, so I know it was done right lol

 

What type of lift do you have? I used a 2.5" spacer lift on top of the strut to keep the full travel in the strut itself. I got told that as soon as the guy tried to get more caster the camber took a wild turn and he couldn't get it to zero in.

Installed my Truxedo Truxport tonneau cover on today.....love it so far. Only thing I have a problem with is the rubber weather stripping on the back isn't wide enough. I called and they are sending a wider one. Was told that the 2016 corrected the problem...the tailgate is taller I guess than the 2015:







and couldn't get this one to rotate but

I have been working on a modular rack to work with the tacoma bed rail system that allows you to mount the cover on top. I already have v1.0 on my truck. V2.0 will be much better.

Finished wrapping the door jams and hinges on the passenger side. Wrapping the insides on the doors and can put it all back together, now we just have to do the other side lol.

Is it me or does that cv axle look like it's just about touching the lower portion of the shock

 

I thought that too, probably has the offset facing the wrong way!
