I drive a 2004 dc pre runner and do a little crawling for what 2wd and a locker allows me to do. I'm not sure the stock gearing ratio but was told re gearing can help crawling as well as rear end torque. Not really familiar with this area so I wanted to get some opinions and advice

I'm not an expert here but a little background will help out. What is your current gear ratio? (You can find this on your door jam) what size tires? What is your driving style/needs?

currently don't know the ratio but where can I find the door jam? I'm running on 33's bfg at. Right now I do simple crawling but I've really pushed the 2wd to its limits and its impressed me. In the nest month or so I'm getting coil overs and leafs and iver been told gearing could effect that a lot

I'm about to have a break in school so I'll see if I can dig up the gear code for you and get a picture of where it is. I assume you're staying with 33s but I forgot to ask 4cyl or 6cyl? With that I can point you to threads and from what I've seen are gears people usually go with since I have no experience myself

3" Toytec spacers, Bilstein 5100s in the back with add a leaf and overloads removed.
If you're actually wanting to rock crawl and progressively do more I'd just save the money on the regear for now and convert to 4wd. Then do gears. I don't see rehearing a 2wd helping as much as 4wd would in rocks

I've been considering it, I've heard of a lot of people converting and getting by with a low budget. Thanks for the input, all I gotta do is find the axel and tranny
