Nothing too fancy on set up... 275/70/17 ko2, SCS wheels, bully 5100 set at 1.85 and 1" block on rear. Badges are dipped but I'll take them off in spring. I'll get some more pics soon.

Dude, good to see the Pine Barrens ! Grew up running the sand roads. Dad taught me how to drive on them back in the 60's. Transplanted to Tennessee but miss the sand roads . . .

Yep! Gloss black powder coat with Rustoleum engine block enamel for the center caps. Paid $275.00 to blast and powder the set.

Go back to base of old fire tower. Look east down to cedar trees. Hike down to them and look for huge right landing gear from F105 that took out the tower in 1972. All sorts of small tubes, metal scraps still there. Also part of a wing. Great fun.....

Against better judgement (because I know how these opinion posts/threads go, but I'm on the fence with these) I'll ask anyway. What do you guys think about these wheels? Yea/Nea?
Negative- They weigh 31 lbs. roughly 4 lbs heavier than what I have now. Still lighter than many aftermarket wheels though. Also, my tires are relativley
    light (41 lbs).
Positive- I found them fairly cheap ~$150.

No worries, man. That's what I'm looking for.

I've been looking to change up the look, and as many wheels as there are out there, I don't like just about all of them. These were the one of the closest contenders for me. I found them through a dealer on Amazon, and I emailed them regarding the weight, and they didn't respond. Amazon had them listed @ 22 lbs., which I thought didn't sound right, but as long as they were close to factory (~ 24-27 lbs.) I would be OK with them. So I just ordered 1 to get an idea. Then I weighed it, and it was 9 lbs. heavier than advertised. All other specs are what I want 17x9, 106mm bore, 18mm offset.

The only other wheels I have my eye on are the SCS SR8's in 17x8.5 (semoaks ride sold me on these) those are supposed to be 24 lbs. The offset is pretty aggressive on these though @ -12mm.

Love the badges with the matte black on gloss black paint. They tie in with the matte black of the wheels. I think that's one of things that makes your ride stand out. I think debadged looks too plain.

Suggestions for something similar to Method Mesh's, without the bolts on the edge?

These look a lot better. They would go well with your truck. They're actually pretty cool. With that neg offset, how far will they stick out? (I'm a newb with this.)
The other ones had too much "bling" going on with the raw aluminum & beadlocks against the black. They didn't seem to fit the look of your model Tacoma. Maybe on the 2016s.

"Bling" is definitely not my style. It's funny that you said that, because It's the first thing my wife said when I took it out of the box.

The wheels I have on there now, actually sit flush with the fenders, which is exactly how I like it. According to this site: the SR8's will stick out 1.5" more.

Right now common sense is screaming loudly in the background to just stay with the wheels I have now, but being a TW member has trained me to shut that little voice out.

I hear you. Looking at all of the trucks on here and what others have done to theirs really makes it hard to fall into temptation of upgrading & modifying.
