I'm starting this build page to keep track of the progress on the truck and hopefully learn from and help others.

I bought my Tacoma used in 2012 with a ProComp stage 2 lift and tires installed. (I know! .... SMH). Anyway, I had been building Baja bugs for 20 years (class 5-1600) and thought, "A truck will be a good distraction!" ... Now I don't think my wallet will ever recover.

April 2015 - Went to the Needles area in Canyonlands NP with the boy for 4 days. We went in over Elephant Hill. The trail was a challenge but still fun. Here are a few photos:

If the tent is on I put it in the bed which take up a lot of room but I seem to be able to still get all my camping stuff loading in (but its still tight).

When I just have the basket on, I use the Yakima spare tire carrier.

Think carefully. There are limitations and draw backs after cutting the cross member. It's REALLY hard to go back if want to go LT or something else. Not saying I don't like my DB lift but I may have done things different if I were to go back.

Man I think there are a lot of people that think this. I'd do differently if I had to do it over again, but I always wanted a lifted Toyota. I blame Michael J Fox for it. Stupid Back to the Future!

does that tepui affect your mpg's much? seems like drag would be reduced with bed bars vs. rack
