Hi everyone! I'm in the market for a 2nd Gen. I'm set on a DCSB 6 speed, but the mileage and year are still up in the air. Preferably, it would be a newer model year with highway miles, but those are in short supply if I want a manual. 50k-100k miles.

Anyway, what issues should I be looking for?

    2005-2009 - Frame Rust
Leaf springs - which years? How do I check?
    What else.....

As long as you're not looking to buy a 3rd gen you are fine...

...for real, just make sure it's in good condition, and pay attention to frame rust. The TSB leaves should have 3 plus one overload

Everyone seems to have this same leak in the same spot. It's also on the other side now. Other than this small leak. My truck has zero issues.

Any if the leaves have not been replaced through the TSB, what is the configuration?

Hey man I owned a '12 and now have a '13. Both trucks had 6-speed TRD Off Road packages and both were Access cabs w/ 6' beds.

The Bluetooth on the '13 was much better with fewer bugs than the '12.

'13 was the last year for the Auto-Dimming mirror as part of a package, it also was the last year for the backup camera in the mirror (where it should be IMO).

After MY13 you also lost features like digital clock.

The '12 had the cubby holes above the wheel wells while the '13 did not.

Interestingly enough 6-speed TRD OR with 6' beds are now the rarest of the Tacomas, as you can no longer get them in the US.

That leak looks like a simple valve cover gasket leak, easy fix and would be normal as valve cover gaskets get hard overtime and lose their sealing ability.

I still don't understand Toyota's decision to do away with the ACOR 6 Speed for 2016.
