As I would have guessed, most off road threads seem to be specifically oriented toward 4x4s. But, I was wondering just how much off road fun I can expect to have with my 4x2. I imagine it depends on exactly what kind of terrain I'd be negotiating, but for instance, would the suspension and tire mods be similar to those for a 4x4, or is this just a bad idea altogether?

If you have a 6-lug, the suspension mods are pretty much 1:1 the same with what you'd put on a 4x4 with the exception of a spindle lift which you can only put on a 4x2. Lifting a 4x2 is less problematic than a 4x4 because you don't have CV angles to worry about.

3" lift, locker and good tires will help you go a decent number of places with good driving technique.
