So this is pissing me off beyond belief! I've researched online, searched Tacomaworld, searched other forums and I still don't know what the fuck to do here. I really didn't find any threads (some that touched on this subject) but with no real answers. I thought i'd ask to see if ANYONE had this problem and found a fix. There just seems to be to many "I'm not sure where it's coming from, so not sure what to do."

Last year : I smelled a little bit of musty smell when I got in my truck. First thing I thought was wetness somewhere. I felt around my carpets and right behind my driver seat it was soaked, from bottom left of where my seat bolts to the floor , over to the door entry protector and up the side of the floor to base of back seat.

I got up under my truck and noticed a shitload of small holes right under where my driver seat is. I got up and looked under the carpet of my backseat and sure as shit there were 6 holes in 4 different spots (24 fucking screw holes) under the seat (99.9% positive he had an amp mounted, unmounted, mounted, etc over and over again under there) so i figured that might be it.

I filled the holes with silicone and called it good. To make sure, I put the truck in the garage in the dark and put a worklight under the truck to see if there were any other holes I missed where light might be shining thru. I looked under carpet and holes were filled. Then I saw about an 8" gap in my pinch weld underneath the plastic entry cap that had light shining thru. Filled the bitch with silicone until whole thing was filled up. Put entry cap back on and called it done. I extracted the water out of my carpet and shampooed it and all good.

I checked it after 2 late spring rain storms and everything seemed fine. Then summer hit and I didn't worry about it.

So onto this fucking winter: Last week i smelled the musty smell again so I checked that area and it was fucking soaked (THE RED CIRCLED AREA IS THE WET PART in pic and the small red circle area within the red circled area is the wettest). I got under truck to see if any body plugs were missing and they were all (from what I found)in and looked fine. I took off that plastic entry guard and there was a little water coming down from back seat area (THE RED LINE ON PLASTIC ENTRY GUARD IN PIC) which led me to believe a leaking sliding window???

I did more research and what I found was a TSB from 2010 that Toyota did not
    send me!!!!!

    taco4_zpssuu0w9cx_ca899bdc93259bacf0d683902627cbcd1c166b35.jpg

I put a Q-Tip in each drain hole under back window and moved it around in there. I then did the TSB water test and poured water into channel. Nothing came out of drain holes.

I noticed water coming from under the window seal to the left of the window though:mad:.
    20160118_080627_zpsy0zfoux5_f019bf34b52965f88073e843e7e0b5b6ba741a56.jpg

Went out and looked just now and there was a small trickle coming out of left side drain hole but not much. Right drain hole bone dry.

So I need some advice if anyone has any.

    1. Should I try to find a small "snake" and try to snake the drain holes to see if theres just dirt buildup in there which could be causing the water to drain into cab area?
    2. Toyota stealership said they'll put in a whole new window for the small price o_Oof $650.00.
    3. The autoglass place will do a test on it for $85.00 and try to finger it out.
    4. Say fuck it and roll around like a jerkoff with plastic duct taped to the rear window and call it the Walmart ghetto mod!

If I spend money on replacing the window and my carpet gets wet again after the fact....I will lose my shit!

I read that 3rd brake lights leak but I figured if that was leaking , I'd have a wet headliner????

Any suggestions? AND NO I WON'T SELL IT AND GET A 2016:mad:

No real good suggestions as to your leak. Maybe you will get lucky and something will break the window and insurance will cover the replacement.

As for Toyota not sending you a TSB. They never do this as a TSB ( Technical Service Bulletin ) is for the Techs in the shop. If you had taken it to Toyota they would or should have looked it up. They are only free for the 36K/36Month warranty.

That's the thing.....I've gotten TSB's in the mail for everything else except this one and the melting DTRL lens. The headlight one they fixed for me even though I was out of the 36 month mark (because they redid the recall/TSB) but this one they won't touch. I think it's bullshit they don't do a TSB and "bring it in when you can" type of deal. It's a problem they addressed so why the fuck should there be an expiration date on it???

Anyways, this shit will cost me some damn money and when I get window replaced I pray to God it fixes it. I'm all out of options really.

I wish you well in your quest. Odd that you are sent TSB's as I have never seen one sent to a customer... Puzzled.

    They have a clear version.

Id try that. Otherwise I'd do the Walmart Gheto mod and say fuck it.

I have the same thing but under my pedals. There was a TSB back in 2001 but it's a little late for that. I'll have to find a way to fix my leak after winter though, working in 10 degree weather is fun. Depending on what it is though, I might try silicone or even flex seal.

Had the same problem as you on my 2010. New rear window seal installed under warranty though. No problems since.

Duck tape the window and drive it for a while and if it stays dry, that was your problem. Then spend the money on fixing it.
