Looking at new tires, probably coopers, will 255/85/16 rub on just a 1.75 front (via bilstein 5100)? .... or will I need more lift? Trying to get most benfit with least $.

My 265/75/16 duratracs rubbed the mud flap, but those are long gone now.

What is the backspace and offset of the wheels you intend to use?

I rub with a smaller tire with a 3 inch lift.

If he is rubbing with 265s I suspect that he doesn't have stock offset wheels and the rubbing might be pretty bad.

Lift won't keep tires off of the flaps, pinch weld, and cab mounts.

Seems like 3in will clear just fine from what I've seen on here, just trying to see if I really need to go that high.. 3in seems to require UCA's ... that all starts to add up quick

I ran the 255's with 2" lift no problem, no rubbing. The tires are a little taller but not as wide.
I took my mud flaps off though, so those might need to go

I'm surprised you got any rubbing with the 265s. My 2011 with 265 Duratracs doesn't rub at all. The 255s have around 1-1/2" greater diameter (depending on manufacturer) so your current rubbing will be compounded by 3/4". You might be able to get around that by just removing the flaps and beating the pinch weld down. My bet is you clear the cab mounts but you might have to do the chop mod too. Turn it to full lock and see how much clearance the 265s have there.

umm...... wtf you doing letting the wife take the truck? 1st mistake.

Also to the rest.... alignment plays a big factor in where tires can rub. With my spc arms i can move the tire forward or back by a solid 2 to 3 inches and keep the same alignment numbers.

And god damn i love the look at 255/85's!

billies set at 1.75 stock OR coils with roughly 190,000 miles in those pics, front bumper also is ~65lbs over stock so prolly 1.5" of lift up front

the most wheeling I have done since I got em is driving around a sloppy pasture goin to the deer stand. I would imagine u would experience some at full stuff with moderate turning, but I have yet to experience any in any practical situation I have been in
