    Hi all,

While waiting for my enclosure from Marv for my IDQ 10 to be behind the rear passenger seat, I completed as much of my audio install that I could. I installed and wired all of my Hybrid speakers, mounted and wired an Alpine MRP-500 (1 ch. 500W) under the driver seat, and deadened + ensolite all 4 doors and rear wall.

My original plan of this install was to use the 2 Alpine amps that I had from my previous system to save some money. I planned on putting the Alpine MRP-F600 (4 ch. 100W) underneath one of the seats. Well after much head scratching the amp won't fit under either seat. It's too wide for the driver side and it hits a bar that hangs down on the passenger seat.

Like I said I am waiting on my sub enclosure from Marv to see if/how I can mount this amp beside the sub. I just want to consider all of my options to find the best location to put this amp. I would like to see where you all have put your large amps if you have run into the same issue, and any other advice you may have.

I am in the same boat. Want to go under a front seat to save rear storage space. I am building a single 10" box for behind the rear seat on drivers side. Doing this to save on storage. My question is what to screw the amp too without putting holes in my new rust free floor?

That bar, can be flipped 90*, but you have to take the seat out of the truck. Look at the plastics on the side of the seat, if I remember correctly you need to take them off, then you have access to the bolts that hold that bar. There's 3 bolts per side. You will only use 2 when you put the bar back in, but just unbolt it, turn it, and bolt it back in. Then put the plastics back on, and put the seat back in the truck. I have an Alpine PDX-M12 under my passenger seat, and that's what I did to make it fit. Don't forget when taking the seat out, to unplug the sensor harness for the seatbelt.

*edit* Oh, and I use industrial velcro on the amp, to stick it to the carpet. Put the plastic hook side on the bottom of the amp, and that sucker won't move, unless you really pull. No holes in your rust-free floor and no raising the amp even higher by putting a mounting plate underneath.

Didn't you have concerns with the rear foot heating duct pumping heat right on to the amp? I used small PVC as stilts on the amp I put under the drivers seat to allow the heat to flow under the amp. I never thought of velcro though that is a good idea.

Nah. The air coming out of those ducts is minimal, and if it's heat, it's still cooler than the temp of the amp at full power. I've had my PDX-M12 under there for 2 years, and haven't had any problems.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
I am curious as to what Hybrid speakers you got for the doors. I just talked to Marv today and we figured that the IDQ was going to fit my needs the best.
