I'm looking for a self contained electric pressure washer that can be switched to apply foam from a soap hopper also. I have seen one one this forum before, but I can't find it again. Maybe someone has one or knows of a brand OR if such a thing even exists.

I guess it would be something like this, but gear toward car washing specifically:

Can't offer help- and maybe you know this already. But you can get dedicated "foam guns" for relatively cheaply. Autogeek has a few for sale for like 50 bucks I think.

For a foam cannon and high-foam soap, go with this...
    http://www.amazon.com/Chemical-Guys...F8&qid=1453272099&sr=8-3&keywords=foam+cannon
This is my pressure washer, but any electric pressure washer will do. The hard part is finding the attachment that will fit from your pressure washer gun to the foam cannon.
    http://www.amazon.com/AR-AR118-Elec...ywords=ar+blue+clean+electric+pressure+washer
If you go with an AR Blue Clean pressure washer, then just get this foam cannon with the attachment included.

This is great. I was hoping there my have been something out that didn't need the foam gun, but after some research I dont know that it exists. All the pressure washers i found w/ detergent tanks just kind of emit soapy water.

I wonder if a high-foam soap was used in a detergent tank if it would get the same effect.

Are there any other advantages with foam besides the ability for the foam to "creep" into cracks/nooks/crannies and hopefully "break down/loosen" debris prior to rinse/wash/rinse?

I have an electric pressure washer....Been thinking about getting a foam sprayer.

You covered it plus it will help with lubricity with the extra soap coverage Which helps reduce swirl risk.

yep. I usually coat it first let it soak while i get the rest of my wash medias ready. I use the two bucket method with a merino mitt with soap in one of the buckets and utilize the foam cannon for the pre soak. I use approx 5 oz total of soap each wash. 3 in the cannon, 2 in the bucket. Quality soap is what makes this easy.

I use and love SCG Pro Extra Suds Balanced Wash. By far my favorite soap ever.

I have Adam's Foam Gun with their Car Shampoo and it works awesome. I'm bias to Adam's but there are a lot of other products out there. The foam gun really covers my truck nicely. I used it back when I had my Ram 1500 (lifted) and it covered that whole truck. The foam really starts attacking the dirt as soon as it hits the truck. I think it's well worth the money.

I like it. Works well in the foam cannon. Excellent lubricity.

If you own a pressure washer, spend the money and buy a foam cannon. In my opinion, they are completely worth it. If you have just a hose, I was on the fence with the foam gun I owned. To me, it really didn't do the trick, especially compared to a foam cannon. I have had mine for a little over a year now and each time I use it, it's a blast. And with the added step of helping remove additional dirt and what not, why not use it!

Also, when I go an mobile detail someone's vehicle, I have received multiple questions from passer bus asking me what I am doing and "that thing is really cool!" Think I have received a few customers because of it.

I just washed my truck this morning and had to snag a few pics. I too use SCG Balanced Wash and it is my favorite. I have tried both colors of Adams as well as Chemical Guys Mr. Pink and with Surf City, the suds seem to stay on the truck longer. The new Adams foams like crazy, but when it came to the product on the truck, suds did not last as long.

    OP.

I use a Ryobi electric pressure washer and chemical guys. Works like a charm.

    Wait.

Nevermind, it was stolen last weekend.
