Ahh. Maybe lol. I'm never back there. Maybe I'll drive around for a few hours with my least liked friend and find out.

Take him for a spin on the trails while you're at it. "I need a reliable review of my suspension..."

I have my magnaflow turned down right out of the can. No more drone than the normal magnaflow drone.

I put my muffler on with a full tail pipe I don't think the tail pipe keeps the cab any quieter.

I've been thinking about this some more, as moving the muffler forward and dumping the exhaust right in front of the spring perch would free up a pretty large area for mounting a water tank or auxiliary fuel tank.

I'll make an appointment with CARB this summer, and get their official verdict. I think there's a way to get it done legally. :D

On my buddies 3.0-slow, we cut the restrictive OE muffler (seems to be far more restrictive than the 3.4's and thus they get good gains from muffler replacements) and welded in a spare IS300 resonator sitting around, and dumped the exhaust angled down over the axle. Fricken thing is nearly as quiet as stock- maybe just as quiet, just a different tone when it does get some volume out of it- goes to show the difference in cheap vs. quality packing material (IMO if we put in an aftermarket resinator, it would be a lot louder). His exhaust is now strait through, no baffles, less bends and is still quiet- best part is a very noticeable gain in power, seemingly across the revrange.

I have a Flowmaster 40 series dumped before the axle and get a decent ammount of drone at highway speeds. Going to change it next week and have it after the axle to see if there is a difference

I got my exhaust rerouted and dumped after the axle with an Aeroturbine 2525XL. Sounds pretty good, no drone on the highway, but its "almost" annoying when you get on it. Hopefully it mellows out when it breaks in or maybe I am just getting old? lol

cut it at the downward slope, over the axle. Can't see it all hanging down at all now

Not sure about the dynamics of airflow around these trucks... but I open my rear window all the time. Any chance cutting the pipe this far up allows exhaust to get pushed in through that rear window while driving?
