Just have a question. Is this safe to do?? I use the D shackle on the right side of hitch to pull stuck vehicles out while wheeling. Give me your comments thanks.

Um no. That part of the hitch is not made to pull stuck vehicles.

Seriously, that is merely a safety hook for trailer towing, I'm shocked you haven't bent it. You need to put that ring onto the hitch in place of the ball.

X3. Just move it over in place of your ball whenever you pull someone out.

In a pinch you could take that ball receiver hitch out and use the pin and a strap. Not the best choice because you could shear the pin.
Get a shackle receiver and be done with it. That is the best option for what you've got.

Do not connect to the ball. You can kill someone. Use one of these instead.

x2. I have seen a shackle go though a windshield after it was placed on the ball and slipped off...

You should pop out that plastic center piece on the bumper and put your D-ring through that for a straight bumper pull!!

(obviously I'm joking. Don't do that or you'll be sad)
