I believe it's best if you purchase it at the dealer, touch up paint cost me only 10 bucks.

    Hi Macwest.

How did you get the touch up paint to stick to the silicon? I've never been able to paint silicon caulk.

OOps. This happened to me. Swap the two lines on the passenger side of the "y" connector and it will work. (the two close together)

I did exactly what you said and It worked like a charm! You can actually see the difference in the tubes on the before and after pictures I posted earlier. Thank you for the help. @BAMA-256 you should try this out. It took me less than a min if that is your issue.

Got the same issue...called Toyota and established a case number. Hopefully, if enough folks report this to Corporate Toyota, they will devise a fix and perform a recall.

When driving, the vibrating hood catches my eye and find it very annoying. Thanks for initiating this thread.

Finally get my truck back tomorrow. I had truck for 3 days and the dealership has had it for 14. They tried to fix it and failed. Then they ordered and replaced the hood. Three more days to get the decals under the hood. I hope it is finally over tomorrow.

Where did you put the silicone under the hood? Is there a photo with arrows in this thread somewhere? If so maybe OP could put it in OP. Thanks y'all.

Build date of December 19, 2015 and it is still the small dollops of adhesive that are starting to separate...

I told the dealer about the issue BEFORE taking delivery and showed them pictures thanks to this thread.

When my truck arrived last week, I took pictures of it as I was taking delivery and talked to the sales guy about it telling him it WILL be a problem in the near future. He said to keep an eye on it.

At highway speeds there is a very slight shake right in front of the driver side near the wind shield.

I'll take it in next time I am near the dealer (about 1.5 hours away).

What is the best way to proceed? Tell dealer and request a fix as well as request a case number to be opened?

At this point it doesn't really bother me too much, however, I assume that it WILL get worse over time.

Also, the sooner Toyota fixes it during assembly, the better off everyone will be going forward.

Sub'd to see how your "new" hood turns out in the long run.

This is the deal breaker for me if I decide to swap to a non-scooped hood. Would like to see a factory fix rather than have to apply some type of adhesive on my own.
