That bothers me when remote starts do that. My first new car was a Chevy cruze with remote start from factory, had the button on the key fob. Used that to start, I could open the doors and just hit the push button start to get the accessories on and I was good to go. Perfect set up for a remote start.

I'll have to do some research on different remote systems when I actually look to buy.

Ahhh, I see the confusion. This is for the access cab, which is priced differently. The premium and tech package is $2300 on the double cab, whether you have the tow package for $650 or not. I guess the price difference is due to the sunroof missing from the access cab.

No wonder I never saw this option...I was only shopping double cabs.

Can you explain this a bit? Im not sure what it means... Thanks!
"due to security issues, they all shut off once you open the door. I asked about that and bot the dealership and the shop that did the installs confirmed. "

P&T on double cab models is $2300 w/o the tow package. It also includes a sunroof that you can't get on the AC models.

If only I didn't need room for a car seat, I probably would have chosen what you did. That isn't a bad upgrade price once you include the tow package. Oh well. A standard bed would have been nice too but I wouldn't fit in my garage with a DCLB. Dang kids....(joking).

you have the PT package on access cab. You cannot get a moonroof on access cab, therefore its not in your package.

For Double Cabs the PT package includes the Moonroof & you cannot get the PT package without it.

HG package code only on Access cabs
HH Package code only on Double cabs

You can start the car with the remote but once you open the door, the engine shuts off. You then need to step on the brake and press the ignition button for the car to restart. When I asked the installer if there was a way to bypass the shutting down part, he said no, it's a security issue. He said that when the car is remotely started someone may still get in and operate the steering wheel and possibly put the truck in gear, hence the reason for the shut off. This doesn't make sense to me at all because in order for the remote start to be activated, I need to click the lock button on the remote 3 times.
How can anyone get into my locked truck and drive it away without a key fob is beyond me. They can just as easily break the window, hotwire it and drive away, I guess.

I got it but originally didn't want it as I only wanted to add the heated seat option. But now after almost 4 months of having the truck i am very glad i have it. the sound system is great the sunroof is awesome and i didn't think i would use the blind spot monitoring but now i wonder how i ever drove with out it.

I went in thinking sport but I was going to then pay for Leather (my preferance) and the sport wheels are hideous but the limited wheels are great (my opinion) so I bought the limited instead where everything is included.

mind you there's no front sonar, just so you are aware, it's only rear.

the JBL system honestly has more bass then any other factory system (when you turn it up) that I've heard, I used to sell car audio and never held JBL in high regard but I like what they were able to accomplish

I'm happy with the limited, I was pretty concerned with the brown leather being ugly but it's fine.

NO its not worth it UNLESS you go full on and get the JBL with it for another $700. THEN it's worth it. I would not have accepted my truck had it not had the JBL system. I specifically ordered it with a tow package and Premium Tech with JBL.

Do you need to know, or care?
Don't know if it's "significant", I did test drive both and the ride is different between the two. The suspensions are tuned differently, so the LTD is smoother over the bumps. I have a LTD because I wanted all the extras. I'm in Canada, so JBL only in LTD and I wanted the leather, but that's really a matter of choice.

I do use all the sensors (BSM, RCT, RPAS), do I need too? No, but they are still handy.

Determining if it's worth it is only for you to decide. For me it wasn't. Only thing I'm missing are heated seats, which I can have installed aftermarket cheap, or if I don't want to void my warranty have Toyota do it for $200 more than I could do it myself, and still not have to shell out for all the other extra stuff I didn't want. But obviously others really like that stuff, so it's an individual decision.

Not to me. I wanted heated seats, and was Ok with the dual zone-- but adding moonroof and all of the nanny stuff just didn't justify $2.3k to keep my butt a little toasty. I have the TRDD offroad that does come with the premium navi/entune unit. I'm very pleased with that, and find the voice recognition to be quite good. Not crazy about the sound quality; may replace stock speakers (not JBL package)

    Luxury of Life vs Money.
I have the money, and its function is to give me luxury in my life.
    Conclusion: "Yes". Its worth it.

    (My gosh, its so simple.)

It's worth it to all the people that have, not worth it for those that do not have it.

    That simple.

Is it better to get an Off Road (add the tech package and Dealer Leather Seats) for an additional $3400
or get a Limited for an additional $4000

It appears the Off Road is a better 4x4 and in this scenario I'm only giving up home link and heated seats that could add aftermarket if wanted.
Is it better to get the Off Road?

    What are your thoughts?
