Hey everyone! My names dave and im from Manitoba, Canada. 20 years young. The tacoma is my first truck, but i've been huge into modding cars previously. I started off with an 03 hyundai tiburon (save the judgment for when you see the pics). That car taught me an amazing amount as far as modifying and mechanical things go. How to modify tastefully and not to cut corners! I learnt that the hard way in some cases. I realized that a truck would be more practical for me at this point, so i parted out the tib and started looking for an SUV or small truck. At first i wasn’t even considering tacoma’s because of their higher price point. I came across a great deal on one and bought it the same day it was posted on kijiji, before many other eager buyers.

The previous owner was the original owner since 07. He maintained it by the book and had a meticulous binder of service records to prove it. He was a construction supervisor at job sites across the province so he highway drove A LOT. When i bought it, the truck had 440xxx km’s (about 280xxx miles). This didn’t really worry me because my entire family drives toyotas. If you stay on top of regular maintenance, they are bulletproof vehicles. My sisters 05 4runner has 500xxx km’s on it and still runs like a clock. Im the kind of guy who can’t drive a stock vehicles. I love to express my taste through building my truck the way I want and i cant lie, i love to break necks while driving. Having a car that stood out so much, im gonna need to see what i can pull off with the taco!

I just ordered a 36” LED bar for the lower grill and a set of OEM style headlights to do an HID retrofit on

Some of my plans for the next few months include:
    • 6” lift (BDS or pro comp)
    • 33x12.5 MT’s
    • 20x12 wheels (see below)

Here was my tiburon; my first project. Boosted, slammed, widebody, you name it! It has been since parted out and is gone.

1 week after i bought it, my brother and i took it on a road trip out to the mountains (4000km round trip). It ran amazing with no hiccups! It’ll take a little getting used to the mileage compared to my old daily which was a ford focus, but very worth it with how practical the truck is.

Couldn’t stand not being able to play my own music so i installed a pioneer avh-x4700bth headunit.

Started on my satoshi grill mod the other day. Ordered the mesh from custom car grills and will also be installing some raptor-style LED’s across the top of it.

I am currently deciding between these wheels. I am leaning toward 2 just because they are different than from what everyone has. I would modify the centre cap though because that little emblem is hideous. Let me know what you think.

I will continue to post updates on here as they come!

A little update. In the last week ive been spending some time on my custom satoshi grill. Picked up a spare so that i could take my time with it. Here are some pictures of the process.
Glassed the sides up. I think it came out pretty good for my first tiem ever working with the stuff.

Separated the two pieces of the grill to make the painting process a bit easier. I don't have any pictures of the bondo work.

I rattle canned it with paint matched black and clear coat. After it is cured ill wet sand it smooth and give it a good polish. I still have to put the side pieces in place and install the 3 grill running lights but its coming along nicely!

Well, in the last little while the mall crawling bug has left me and im enthused with going on adventures with my truck. Whether than be flying down dirt roads or crawling through the woods. I've decided that i want to do an overland style build. Here's the truck as it sits. My goals for this spring are a lift, wheels, relentless fab DIY front bumper, winch, some recovery gear, along with a roof top tent (hopefully).

I just picked up some 285/70/17 goodyear duratracs for a killer deal. Im going to pair these up with a 3" lift, ill probably go with either bilstein or OME, or a combination of the two.
