    Hey guys,

I'm new to the whole Tacoma world. Currently looking at buying an 09 from Haldeman Ford in Hamilton NJ. Wondering what kind of things I should look for in a lifted Tacoma with 81k. Any advice is greatly appreciated

Do some research on the frame warranty. The 2009's aren't officially a part of that (?) but it doesn't hurt to investigate it.

Long story short...BEFORE YOU BUY anything.....have Toyota inspect the frame for 'internal frame rust'.

In general, check the frame for rust, especially just behind the front wheels near the firewall where the frame is boxed. Frame rust is a big issue with these vehicles. Be mindful of any driveline vibrations or noises that may be coming from the front end. Poorly designed needle bearings are known to grind on lifted l trucks. If it's a 4x4, find a gravel or dirt road and check the 4wd, hi and lo. If it's a TRD Off Road, make sure the locker works.

Check to see what kind of lift is installed. Is it blocks, suspension, or drop bracket? Visually check the front alignment and overall tire wear.
