I would replace the turn signals with these: http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/turn...e-amber-led-switchback-system-1156-1-set.html LEDs. And the parking lights with these: http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/parking-marker-lights/194/6-hv.html LEDs. I would be following this: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...g-lights-with-switchback-leds-a-how-to.85986/ guide and the finished result will hopefully look like the video. Has anyone done something similar to this and have any advice? I've read a little bit about using resistors but some people also recommend getting new (relays?) specifically for LED lights, I don't really know what this entails however.

A lot. Check out my build page.
Yep. Swapped all the bulbs in my 2014 Off Road to LEDs. I did swap to the VLED switchbacks at one point but returned them as they were failing within the first week (just kept flickering). They gave me my money back and said the new version of them is much more reliable so I have been debating doing it again. Resistors are fine. Just pay attention and install them correctly and they aren't a big deal.

1st gen switchbacks are easy man. Too easy actually. The turn signals on 1st gens come with dual filament sockets so there's already an extra whole for the power wire. I ran my wire straight to the corner lights. No issues so far. Strongly recommended too.

I have my corner (running) lights as plug n play amber LEDs, and a LED strip for my turn signals. I like the look way better with LED

Did this on my 99 by swapping the turn signal sockets to 1157s (dual filament), then wiring the other wire to the parking light.
