Sounds like we absolutely might have a good group forming here. It's possible that this will surely be the best MLK day run yet.

Anyone have ideas for a destination? Mt. Taylor area might be fun...

Sounds good. It looks like we'll have to wait until we get closer to the date to see who can commit to going.

Just a heads up to all...

Since everyone has been noncommittal about a run this weekend, and I've seen no real activity in this thread since I proposed the run, I'm going to bail on this weekend.

My Wife and I have decided to take our kiddo skiing for her first time, and maybe go pull some fish through a hole in the ice.

It's all cool, Nick. I have to apologize for not doing much to organize. Been traveling a good bit for work so haven't had my head in the thread.

Oh, and I was off busy making this happen:

Oh, dang. Wasn't expecting to see that. Are you going to sell the truck?

Yup. Fixing a couple things, washing it then it goes on the market. Looked at it one day a few months back and finally realized that the talk about replacing it was true, that I had outgrown it. I mean, it is really just an off-road two door sports car. That, and I have to generate some mod money...

It's probably for the better for me. My truck needs some nourishing rather than abuse this weekend. Plus I need to do some maintenance on my wife's civic.

It's the end of an era.

Are you going to put it on c-list? Should be lots of fun dealing with all the knuckleheads.

Gonna part with anything prior to sale? Like maybe we could trade winches, or say, I'll trade you that intake plenum that you gave me for the S/C?

I'm planning to do as little work as possible. One of the 3rd member studs needs replacing. Having Toyota do it so I don't have to deal with the possibility of breaking any others. Changing the oil, plugs and wires myself then washing it. Beyond that, I don't want to touch it.

Not sure where I'm listing it. Might start with TW and see what the response is then CL. With the starting price I have in mind and what I'm willing to settle for, I think it'll move quick. I'll probably have to deal with the peeps that are all butt-hurt they didn't respond faster.

I really want to move on. The FJ is calling and I'd like to get the initial work done (tires, lift, sliders) and actually use it on the trail instead of hanging out in the garage all the time. After that, Chris is going to help out with the armor and a low profile roof rack then I'm done modding except little shit. I need to spend more time outside.

You should PM me with your numbers... seriously. I've been itching to start playing with new platforms (although yours is pretty much done). We're going to get a 4th gen 4Runner for Rene, and I wouldn't be totally against an "off-road two door sports car".

I like the plans for the FJ. It'll be nice to get out with you more often.

    PM sent.

Yeah, I started missing the point of having an off-road vehicle. Hanging out in the garage is good and everything but hanging out in the woods is better. Taking lessons learned from the truck, simplifying and aiming for a better balance of mods and getting outside in the fresh, thin NM air.
