I want to order a UWS tool box from Amazon for my truck, but I'm concerned about it getting damaged during shipment. Have any of you ordered a tool box from Amazon and how did it go? I guess I'm just looking for reassurance that it will go ok. I just don't want to have to go through the hassle of returning it if something goes wrong. There are no UWS dealers around me.

Do you have Amazon Prime? I find that Amazon's customer service is second to none. If there is an issue, they will take care of you. I order large/bulky/fragile items from Amazon quite frequently and usually never have an issue with an item arriving damaged.

There's been a number of people who ordered UWS boxes from Amazon and received damaged and/or poor quality boxes.

I would really suggest going local on getting your hands on a box before buying it. Some guys returned the first box only to have the free replacement damaged as well.

Gotta be a low-profile, black box.

If you have an Agri-Supply, go there first. I got my UWS side box there for $100 less than any place I found online.

To be fair, I bought mine local like 10 years ago, and the local guy had to reorder mine more than once too...No Amazon involved

It's a large, bulky item and hard to pack properly so I'd imagine it's pretty typical for them to get damaged during shipping

I ordered a Defender roof rack through Amazon. It arrived intact but the interior foam protection pads were toast and there were at least three holes in the box.

Amazon is really good about taking stuff back. One time I ordered a Criterion dvd that arrived two days later than it said it was delivered. It arrived in a ziplock bag with a USPS apology/ denial of liability note. The case was busted, shrink wrap missing liner notes were removed and there were crumbs between the pages and fingerprints on the discs. The damn delivery man took it home, opened it, watched it, then delivered it to me. I sent pics to Amazon, they refunded my $ and paid for return postage.

I contacted the AgriSupply 60 miles from me and they have the one I need in stock. I think I'll just ride and get it.

Nice. That's what I did. My nearest store is 4 hours away but it's not far from Home home so I picked it up on a trip home.

i buy everything i can from Amazon, if its damaged, email them they will send another one , and get it in 2 days , with free shipping both ways, sometimes you even keep the damaged stuff and still get a replacement in 2 days,, best place to buy anything, if they have it

I just receive mines the other day from Amazon and it was damage. For some odd reason they sent it with USPS and made me pick it up at the post office. Guess it was to "BIG" to fit in my mail box because I live in a community. The post office doesnt give a sh*t about the package and I could already tell that its damage before I even open it. Open a return with Amazon and going to get a replacement. Hopefully they dont send it with the post office again. Amazon is the best and fastest way to shop.

Wow, thats sucks for me because UPS would drop off the package in front of the door while the mail man goes to the community mail box and leave a note if its too big. Thanks for letting me!

I ordered my box from Amazon a few weeks ago showed in 2 days in perfect condition. If you are a prime member if it is damaged they will send a label and schedule a pickup for the damaged one and send a new one. Pretty painless.

I tried three times to order a toolbox from Amazon...each one was damaged. I finally called my local dealer, and they price matched. They ship from Amazon in a cardboard box with no packaging for protection. Lesson learned
