I am going to be replacing my valve cover gaskets this weekend. I have already purchased new plugs and wires and will be installing them as well. Any suggestions on other maintenance I should do while I'm in there? I was thinking about cleaning my TB, Fuel injectors and maybe replacing my PCV. Not sure what else to look at.

    Any suggestions are welcomed.
    Thanks

Sounds like you have it covered. How many miles are on the engine? I just did my valve covers about a month ago. It's not too difficult. Make sure you have a torque wrench that will read 5lbs, that's the specs for the valve cover bolts. You will also need some RTV silicone for a few places on head.

Believe the torque specs for the valve cover bolts is 52in lbs. Which converts to about 5 ft lbs. Depending on your type of torque wrench it might be difficult to get your lb torque wrench to 5ft lbs. I just bought a inch pound wrench. I have read misleading info on this though. I have had some well known members on here tell me though that the torque specs are 13ft lbs? But I found that is for the intake manifold specs. Here is a good write-up on the job. https://www.tacomaworld.com/out/?ur...e-cover-gasket-replacement-part-s-n-pics.html

Here's a tip: use better thread titles.

You can always check your valve lifter clearances. Take a look at the spark plug grommets also, check them for tears.
