I have a 2009 4cyl 5spd. When it idles it has a light knock. When pull the shifter to the side or jiggle it the knock stops for a bit then comes back. Is this a common thing and is there an easy fix. I'm not overly concerned about it. I don't hear it when I drive. The truck only has 55k.

It's not uncommon. Is your ac on or are you in defrost mode? Most only notice it when the compressor is engaged. My guess is a transmission shaft hitting a resonant frequency with increased idle.

    First, Welcome to TW!
Then, I do hear knock too, more noticeable on a cold start, and I do hear a different one when the A/C is on... I don't really bother about that but of course there is an explication about that, like the one @tacoma4 said. I didn't even notice if it stops when I move the stick shift. I will try it tomorrow.
