    Hey Everyone,

In my spare time I design car parts. Being that I'm new to owning a Tacoma, I started with a shift knob for my 2nd gen 6spd Tacoma. I'm simply poking to see if there is general interest in this item or similar custom shifter designs. If I were to sell these, I would be back as a registered vendor under a LLC company name. For now, just seeing what people think...

    option 1.
Create several designs, poll the most popular design, run 20-100 production parts at a time for sale (various finishes could be created).

    option 2.
produce smaller quantity runs of several designs and just post them all for sale (normal vendor process)

option 3. (least likely due to cost)
Create custom knobs. Work with individuals based on their suggestions or hand drawn sketches to create their unique knob. One off runs are expensive but it can be done

Anyways...just did a rendering of the part going into my truck. Please let me know what your thoughts are,
    Thanks much
    Cole

PS - Auto or Manual, both should be feasible

Something that I have wanted was a revolver cylinder with something like .44 mag or .45lc shells in it.
I bet you could easily sell some of those.

Would you be offering all metal or leather options as well?

Seems like every aftermarket shift knob is metal. For someone that lives in a climate that sees more days below freezing than above. I'd have to pass. But a decent looking leather one would be tits.

Completely agree! All the aftermarket options are either metal or wood. A customizable leather option would be sick.

Are you vendor of some sort? I believe they have new rules for selling products on TacomaWorld as far as licenses and such.

    Hey Everyone,

I'm really excited with your responses so far! So, yes, I do have the contacts to make leather...I'm no leather worker myself but I'm good friends with the guys to make Harley and just about every other seat you can think of for a snow mobile or two wheel vehicles...so that's def possible. In addition, I have quite a bit of leather experience working with those guys.

Also, the revolver barrel. I'll design a concept this weekend. Sounds like a cool idea. It would require a different manufacturing method but not the end of the world.

And for the Vendor bit. I know there are pretty strict rules here. I inquired once with no response from the admins so I will keep trying. I'm working on forming my LLC now so within the next month I should be set legally. I'm guessing it will take about two months to complete the website (domain already acquired). Before I post any links or anything actually indicating they are for sale here I will have made sure the correct permissions are in place.

    Keep the comments coming,
    Thanks!
    Cole
