I am a part of many of the suspension threads and frequently talk on that stuff. Getting away from the hobby and sport and more into that of my personal life, not to mention I haven't really found a dedicated thread for this, I figure why not make one?

My respect goes out for a person who can actually create music using real instruments, a lot of the stuff out there nowadays is all digitized and computerized. As a fanatic of music, I also know that an artist would be fairly worthless without a quality tool to back them up.

I just picked up this guitar in brand new condition and am beyond excited to start modding it to get some better sound out of it. I started playing a very basic Squire P-Bass guitar and after some time, realized a 6 string would be better for me because of how much I wanted to grow. So this is my very first 6 string, and can't wait to get started playing, and shredding.

I'll kick off the thread by posting what I got:

    '99 Ibanez RG520GP
    -MIJ model (Japan)
    -Original Super Wizard neck
-Original Edge tremolo (Very sought after apparently)
-V7 neck/V8 bridge Humbucker pickups (Changing out to gold plate Dimarzio Titan pickups soon)
    -Basswood body
    -Maple/Bubinga neck
    -24 Frets
    -Gray pewter matte finish
-Autographed by Todd McFarlane of Korn

Badass! That Todd McFarlane sig is fucking sweet, but I feel he should be credited to something more than just the album artwork for Korn

    <cough,cough Spawn, cough, Image, cough>

I will take the lazy 'Murican route and repost my setup from a different thread :D

Here are some pics/specs of my current Setup. Just like my truck, I tend to be very frugal with the money I spend on music gear (hence the amount of Peavey and other "cheap" gear) :)

I've been playing a lot more this last year. Took a break for a couple years after playing strictly "metal" and have gotten back into more eclectic styles and original tunes.

It's good for the soul! :amen:

Been a while since I've taken a picture, takes a lot of time. These are my favorite pieces. Now have added a custom prs 24 in a deep blue with a cloud looking quilted maple signed by prs, and a fender acoustic in zebrano wood. If you want to see a beautiful guitar, that's it. I used to work as a luthier at Zither USA here in Brenham, Texas. uploadfromtaptalk1453552045500.jpguploadfromtaptalk1453552070895.jpg

You guys all have a really nice collection of axe's down to the acoustic's! Very nice! I need to re-string mine, as I was tuning it yesterday the strings were so out of tune my high E string snapped clean off. I gotta head over to Guitar Center and buy some Ernie Ball Super Slinky in 9 gauge then get to restring, then retuning this beast. I still played with it yesterday and it sounds great!

I saw that one in the search actually, but it looked like it was started, commented on some, then it just simply ran out of gas at some point. I think it was 2 or 3 pages long? I definitely want one where we could all chime in and just keep it going. :)

    All I'm using is a Line 6 Spider IV 15W amp. :(

It actually kicks some ass for what it is, but it is not by any means as intricate as yours is.

I need to fix this weird popping sound that it has right now. I think it's the cable? I'm not sure right now but it's making the guitar sound horrible.

Could be dusty pots or bad connection in the input.

Well the amp sat for about 6 years or so just gathering dust so I think the pots themselves may be dusty. Maybe I should give it a huge clean up. Prior to this it worked awesome.

    Mesa

I was trying to save for a Mesa Dual Rec. but I ended up with the Bugera. For $500, I think its a decent choice for my 1st tube head.
