    Hi
This is my first post. I just want to let the forum know if you buy a new Tacoma and it does not have a hitch or wire harness from the factory, Toyota does not have them in stock to add to the truck after. I have received information from the dealer and Toyota USA stating this. They also said they don't know when they will have them. Kind of makes me mad due to the fact the dealer had no problem taking my money for it.

Get the tow package, more than just the hitch and harness.

Best thing about Tacoma's. So much aftermarket support. You can get anything for them.

I know. My position is that if you know you need a hitch, get it on the truck from the factory, because it comes with much more for pretty cheap. That's for the people that may look at this thread thinking they can save 100$ and buy aftermarket hitch, then end up missing out on the larger alternator, AT cooler, etc.

    Agree if you order.

If you buy off the lot, no tow package included, you can get a hitch.

Can a tow package be bought w/o the hitch? It could in '04 (I have one on a Highlander), but I don't know about now.

There is no "tow prep" package for the 2016 Tacoma. You either get the whole thing or nothing.
