I need some help putting a lift together and I'm new to the truck scene, basically I was wondering if I need to install new UCA's on my truck in order to put some toytec coilovers with Bilststein struts. I need a couple of inches to fit some 33" tires and I want to put them on already but don't have the money to buy everything (Coilovers, UCA's, Spindles, Leaf springs) at once, thanks for helping a newb out

With careful trimming and a cab mount chop, you can get those tires on with about 2.5 inches of lift. Wheel backspacing is critical on our trucks. 4.5" backspacing seems to be a good starting point. At that lift level you may or may not need UCA' s. There will be quite a bit of trimming involved.

So do you think I'll be ok without the UCA's for the time being? I plan on adding them as soon as I have the money, I was just wondering if installing the struts and coil overs by themselves (without the UCA's or Spindles) would fuck up my truck?

    Just the alignment.
What are you looking for out of this lift? Street use, looks, off road ability?

I want something that won't ride like shit and something that can handle spontaneous off roading. I'm not trying to go rock crawling, take it off jumps or anything like that. Just want a quality lift

Always changing...but there is no place like home.

Black tube steps, Skid plate, Bilstein 6112's front and 5160's rear, Bakflip F1 folding cover, EGR raingaurds, All weather floor mats, AFE pro dry filter, BFG 265 70 R 17 KO2's.
I just lifted mine with bilstien 6112's and 5160's and an AAL. I gained 2 inches with the settings I set and also got the LR UCA's. The dealer didn't think they would be able to align it but the UCA's allowed a lot of adjustment and they had no issues at all. I hear that people have mixed reviews if UCA's are needed beyond 2 inches and the company I bought the front suspention from said I wouldn't need uca's unless I went up to 3 inches. That may be true, I wouldn't need them unless I went to 3 inches but not having them would limit the alignment numbers to have a better ride on the road. I asked a similar question on a thread I made about my suspention setup and someone commented that I would not regret getting the UCA's but I may regret not getting them due to alignment. With minimal height in a lift less than 2 inches you will probably be just fine. If you are not opposed to a little trimming you can surely squeeze bigger tires without lifting higher as well. I didn't want or need to trim and used K02 265 70 17's. Hopen you get it figured out and would love to see pics when done.

Thanks for the help guys, I'll definitely post pictures once I get it all put together. I just picked up my BFG TaKO2's (275/65R18) today and I can't wait to slap them on!
