Well thanks to a very careless and probably texting driver that managed to lose control and come across 2 lanes of traffic, I have myself a 3rd Gen on the way this week.

Bought this old crappy 2nd gen :)poking:) brand new in 12'. Wrecked it few weeks ago. Driver from oposite direction of traffic swerved into my lane in a flash. I swerved to avoid her but ended up almost plowing right up onto her hood - but landed and pit maneuvered her 180 deg. Frame damage was "unrepairable". Insurance paid me out 3000 less than what I paid 4 years ago..... so what do you think I did? ? Muahhaha.

Now here I am waiting for what us Canadians call a "TRD Sport Upgrade Package." Mag Grey SB MT. Unfortunately we can't get the LB in MT as most know. Meh- oh well. At least we don't have to pay for mats and mud flaps. Saved about 2000 off website retail as well. Saw the same salesmen as back in 2012
If anyone is in Calgary looking to get a Taco- PM and I'll send his contact details over.

Got most of my shit off the old rig before they sent her to auction so I'm slappin those KO2s back on after I see what the baseline mileage is. UPDATE: After 3 tanks on OEM tires and wheels, and 3 tanks on the BFGs mileage is the same (mixed city with highway). Realized after reading some of the threads this last couple weeks I'm an idiot and got the E range BFGs. Not realizing they have a C range part number.

    Immediate plans:

    SR grill ordered. Check
    Swap OEM running boards Check
Swap OEM bed extender and divider
    Swap shoes and wheels Check
    Tint
    Roof wrap
Derp the tail gate (lower stamped portion)
Full front 3M protection (roof, pillars, mirror, fender and bumper). Check
    Infamous LED interior and plates
    Debdge/sticker Check
Tape the control arms ☺ Check
    Ensure roof is "initialized" Check

    Future
    5100s @ .85
Tonneau (my LB cover is up for sale)
    Huskies WB
    Remote start
Hopefully aftermarket BHL. Don't want to try cooking my new set
    TRD Pro Headlight and Taillight
    And God only knows...:argue:

Lovin all the threads on here so far about the 3rd. Massive amounts of good info. Especially about some potential TSBs.

Will post more pics of my new child this week.

For clarification, did the running boards come on yours or did you buy them off someone/somewhere and install them yourself. Because I am looking to add these or the gloss black nerf bars. But im trying to weigh the cost of them. The onese you have look very nice, if you bought them offline, would you mind sharing the website?

These are the OEM boards from my gen 2. Direct bolt on. Beleive Toyota charges approx 360 new.
But I've seen them online usually around 200. Ive been very happy with mine. Excellent fit and no gaps between cab and boards. Also good for deflecting rocks if you go to a more aggresive tire.
A quick google found me this for part number.

PM'd you stealthmode. But if anyone else can answer that'd be great. Anyone with this OEM style running boards know if they stick out far enough to protect against door dings? Maybe a down photo of the door jam showing the running boards? I like the look and don't need sliders.

Yup they do. Actually after a week of driving my new truck and not having them on-and then putting them back on- I realize they stick out just the right amount. Not enough to bang shins but enough for good footing and door protection.

Yw. They really are good boards. For OEM none the less. I'm sure you'll be happy. I'm planning to retro fit some LED lights eventually to them as well. Maybe an integrated turn signal or a series of 3-5 with a foot light. Just haven't figured out the design yet.

Put the shoes back on from my 2nd Gen.

    BFG AT KO2s. 265 /70/ 17.

Ultra Wheels 17x8 c/w black lags and locking.

1970s Land Cruiser Center Cap " T " symbol (aluminum alloy) . Random ebay search treasure.

Also locking gas cap. Part number in pic. No sign of check engine light - seals good.

    None... sigh
Like the look of the wheels. Thanks for the info on the boards, $795 on the toyota site for the cast aluminum that look like those. Have them on my wife's 4Runner and I like them a lot. Undecided between those a set of sliders.

    Thx @WMDtech and YW.
It took me a long time to settle on a wheel for my truck. So much bling out there and pretty hard to be original when everyone and their dog has a Taco :D. Well they were original for my 12'.....until Yota came out with the ones you speak of!! *shakes fist in air**

They come with all black centers -needed to set it off somehow and I stumbled a cross those aluminum centers from a Lancruiser.

Little dissapointed when I got the wheels, thought they were going to have more of a concave look to them based on the picture but I think they come in different offsets and i got the closest to factory spec so that mite explain it. More offset would probably look more like the pic below.

Get the wheels-sliders can wait! 135.00 ea @ TireRack

Had some fun this weekend. Hauled a Honda ATV out to MacLean Creek.
She fit perfectly in the short bed.

Really clean look man, especially the wheels and tires with the MGM. Are those E or C rated KO2s?

Thanks . Loving the MGM more everyday (been 2 months now and ain't gettin old :))

They are E rated unfortunately. I recorded mileage for 0 - 2500 km with OEM rubber and now I'm recorded about 2000 km with these - mileage seems to be almost identical with mixed driving. Getting 15 KM less on a tank. About a 3% drop.

I haven't done all out highway with the E range yet but I think that's when I would see a big difference.

When I sell the OEM s I'll pick up a C rated set. Also towing a 4000 lb camper now at least once a month.:wave: city. Hello nature.

Picked up a 87' Adventure Travel trailer this week. Shes got all the goodies one would need- tape player.... water. Heat. Shower. Stove. AC. Fridge stocked with

Had my eye on the used market all Winter and just when I thought all hope was lost for a good deal with spring approaching this baby popped up. 20160316_201010.jpg

Very happy with the way she towed it home. Good, smooth power and able to cruise in 6th gear comfortably. Kept it around 90-95km is where she was happy.

No weight distribution hitch yet but one could do with out if they wanted at thin weight. Also havent put my Tekonsha brake controller back on yet from my Gen 2 but the tuck did very well. This camper has a 4000 lb GVWR. 3000lb dry approx.

Now if spring can hurry up and get here in Alberta..:mudding:
If anyone is reading this from Alberta and know some good sites please chime in!!! :)
