The first Winter after I got mine I hardly used it, even put it up on craigslist for sale at one point, but no takers. The next Winter, IIRC, was a record snowfall year and it got used about every week; made up my mind then that I'd never get rid of it. I still shovel the light stuff, but it's good to have the "right" equipment when it gets "ugly." We aren't getting any younger. I keep mine fueled with Stabil treated gas during the light use years (like this current one up here) and over the Summer, to keep things from gumming up.

 

Yep, that seems like the logical approach. And yes, we're not getting any younger... I just popped two Alleve.

 

You crack me up ... glad to see the Winter storm isn't killing your spirit.

 

My ace shoveler is about 5,000 miles away in the land of rain but no snow... England. I raised a smart kid.

 

After 7 yrs over there, of which I enjoyed every one, I have this strange dislike of rain, at least long extended periods of rain; I'd much rather have snow.

 

im out shoveling for my ace shoveler so he can go to work, we give-n-give,then die wtf?

 

Ha, give me rain 6 days a week every week over one day like this.

 

and after i die, they are gunna cremate me so im easier to lug around

Getting ready to go out again and my ass cheeks still aren't warmed up from the last trip out there.

 

Cam, use a shovel, dont try scootin thru wif yer ass, u know it'll only aggravate the roids!

 

sometimes these storms can bring out the best in people, hopefully its not to cold, ie,zero.

 

Hahaha. And it's a little scary you know about my medical condition.

 

'Morning folks. 11" or deeper here already, the wind makes it hard to get a clean measure. I had to put the boots on -- and lace them up -- just to empty the ashes from the woodstove, and our ash can is in a supposedly protected cove just outside the door. The wind is really working the snow into every corner. And the snowfall total maps have changed, naturally! We were in the 'kinda f*****d' zone last night, now we're in the 'really f*****g f*****d' zone this morning! Yay.

 

I'd say we have a good 18 inches already, barely 12 hours into this. Another 15 or so hours to go.

Okay, out I go. If you don't hear from me in an hour, send out a search party.
