Changing tire from Pathfinder Sport SUV to SAT
Enjoyed reading a post from dxpsman and would appreciate a reply from him and/or someone else knowledgable about this subject.
We just recently, like within the last hour, bought a Pathfinder Sport SAT tire from Discount Tire in Las Cruses, NM. When I called this order in, I was told over the phone it was the Pathfinder Sport SUV P235/70R16 SUV tire we wanted to pick up. As we still have one similar almost new tire that needs a flat fixed on it. Planning to put the two similar tires on the front of our 2007 Toyota Highlander at the Army base I worked at. With our truck having 2 of the same tires on the back.
When my wife just picked up the one tire, she called me to confirm all this. Then the guy at Discount Tire explained to me on the phone that the SUV had been discounted and the closest is now the SAT.
Of course with me asking about the tread if there's any difference. Him saying the tread is different but it should be OK.
DXPSMAN's mention that the SAT is an example of a big tire company buying out another and just re-branding the tire.
    So my questions are:
-Can we have one Sport SUV P235/70R16 "SUV" tire and one Pathfinder Sport SUV P235/70R16 "SAT" tire on the front of our 2007 Toyota Highlander?..
-Or, same question as above but for on the back of our truck?
-or should we wait and buy another SAT to be safe?

Again, are the treads on the discontinued SUV that was replaced by the SAT of the same tread? Or if not does it make a "big" difference?

I was sort of surprised/blindsided that Discount in Las Cruses didn't explain this to me on the phone when I set up the order...

Would sure appreciate yall's help out there. I know NOTHING about cars and trucks. And it's folks like all of yall out there who keep me and my family on the road!

    Thanks everyone!
