I have a 1st gen 5 lug that I did a 3" spindle lift with 2" shackles. I need new shocks now. The ride is really rough. What does everyone suggest? People rave about Bilstein, but which shocks do we use if its been lifted? You can't use the same shocks you'd use for stock, right? What other shocks do people recommend (specifics please)? I just want a stock ride for highway and light off-roading.

I know those are the ones that match it, but can you still use them if it's been lifted?

I have a 3 in spindle and daystar 1.5" up front and AAL in the rear with matching kyb mono max with stock springs and it is fine. Not sure what you mean by rough. My old shocks was completely dead, won't even expand. So the KYB is a major upgrade so no shocks.

So I can put on any shock as long as it is the right fit for my truck? I just assumed that because it's been lifted, the length the shock would need to be longer, since there is more distance between where the shock mounts to the truck and the suspension now.

You'll be fine. Unless you going with long travel suspension. Then you will need didn't shocks.
