X-Runner Oil Pan Spacer FS

This is an X Runner mod. The oil pan design in the X-Runner is very shallow and it is very easy to cavitate the oil pump. When you do it is really easy to fry the engine.

I made these for the X-Runner crowd for a while and I have just a few left.

I have them in two (2) versions.

Without the baffle. $370 shipped lower 48 states.

This puts a spacer plate between the upper aluminum oil pan and the lower stamped steel oil pan.


This comes with an oil pick up tube spacer, gaskets and all stainless hardware for installation.
It does not come with the pick-up tube, shown in this pic. You reuse your stock one.

With Baffle. $570 shipped to lower 48 states.

This is the same, with an additional baffle to help hold the oil in than and keep it from sloshing.



This picture shows the spacer mounted on top of an upper X-Runner oil pan. The upper oil pan is not included.

The bottom of the oil pan, is still higher than the cross member.


This mod increase oil capacity by about a quart.

You can do this mod in the garage in about 1 ~ 1 1/2 hours. It is an easy install.

It depends on the oil pan you have. Most 4 x 4 have a nice deep pan, that has a different bolt pattern. However, some Prerunners have the same crappy X-Runner pans.

Both have a two piece oil pan. There is an upper section & a lower section. This spacer goes between the upper & lower section. Since the 4 x 4 pans have a different bolt pattern, this will not work.

I contacted Coupe. Happy to announce that Coupe is willing to make another batch of 10 spacers kits.

Put me down for the the first one! Now we only needs to get commitments for 9 more ... then he will build them.

I looked all over the net for a kit but couldn't find one. Im not the best at building stuff like this so it would have taken me forever to do it. I recently started to Autocross my X-runner and started to read about the problems with the pan's running out of oil and frying the engine. I believe every x-runner should have a oil pan spacer! Thanks Coupe for being willing to build them again.

The original post was selling off the last few from a run I made a few years ago. (Look at the date of the post). When I was selling these, I was trying to get rid off old stock. After that run, I was NOT planning to machining anymore of these. I had posted that that run would be my last.

I have had a few people approach me about making a new run. It is cost prohibitive to make one or two. At today's prices, $300 w/o baffle and $450 w/baffle.

 

OK, that sounds reasonable. I assume this includes the extended bolts. Can you put me down for one? Has this will also been placed in the xrunderground site which may increase sales.

 

The kit will include stainless bolts/nuts, gaskets, etc.

It has not been placed on XRU. Feel free to post it.
