If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
We had planned to do a Lost Corner Exploration (NE WA, Colville/Metaline Falls/Ione) a couple summers ago, but after a few guys "pre-scouted" the area, it was determined that it is mainly logging roads, with no real OHV / 4x4 Trail systems to explore.

Here's the Trails we planned on running. Who knows, maybe I'll get a wild hair and head out there this spring.

I think you'd be better served heading south into eastern Oregon. Some stuff there but I haven't checked it out.

    Public Service Announcement:

Today, North Mountain (FS 28) was an execution in patience and soaked in ignorance/ego and topped off with a cherry of frustration.
Luckily the use of my rear e-locker AND front ARB locker made the Yeti get thru the same area that Cam @Greddy initially got stuck. Snow was soggy and thicker than last weekend. I also got to air down three times! 17, 12, 7.

Oh, and for the record = Brian is right again @northwesttaco

Went and f'd off today. Took a stroll to stampede. No 4wheel access. Talked to the kittitas sheriff, he said there is nothing on the west end of kittitas open for snow wheeling. Ellensburg up in the clockum was the nearest place.

So we made our way down to Denny creek and exit 47/tinkham. Made it to the camp ground on Denny creek, then turned around, and headed to tinkham. Basically just took our time headed west on tinkham, up to the power line y, and on down to 42.

My buddies jeep, 4banger with 32's, Detroit rear, lunchbox front.

I got throttle happy and sank to the frame.

Also,it's come to my attention (also @Usethe2nd ) 's attention, I have a doppelganger in the fall city area lately. My almost identical truck, different front bumper but still hoops over headlights, two-tone desert mica with rhino liner on the lower 1/4 body and fender flares but has a canopy on it.

That color and vehicle aren't too common. Things like that stand out and there's usually only one like it.

We had a conversation LAST weekend about the group that I planned going with THIS weekend; you stated something to the effect of how some/many that attend are/aren't prepared or equipped; I learned first hand...

I'd say, basic tools to fix something that breaks, and some basic recovery gear. Hi-lift, straps, shackles and come along if you dont have a winch. A hi-lift can be used as a come along, not just a jack. A shovel works wonders also. A lot of the places we go are usually 15-20 miles, or more, away from the nearest town, so using Murphy's quantum law, anything that can go wrong will go wrong. Use your best judgement to be prepared for the worst, and hope for the best.

You don't always need the most expensive or fancy gear, as long as it works and gets you off the trail. Experience goes a long way also. :2cents:

This. And just making sure your truck is ready maintenance wise and properly equipped (tires mainly). I'd say on board air is really under-looked in case you need to air down

Well, I'm about half way there, I'll be getting a winch when I get a front bumper, but that may be later this year at the earliest. I have basic recovery gear but no way to pull the truck out myself, so I see your points. I suppose I need to make friends with people who do ;)
