Hi tacoma fans. Just wondering if anyone has fabricated some sort of shock extenders to the axle and bed of the truck to use regular shocks. I just lifted my truck and notice my shocks are fully extended. Maybe 1 inch left.
I don't want to buy new shocks again since I just bought these.
    Photos please :)

If you can fabricate you can figure out how to do it.

Do you plan to make them for the bottom or top ??

It would be cheaper to just buy new shocks.

If I needed to bill this job.

Get new shocks. Sell the old ones. You won't regret that decision.

Figure out just what you need to work with the lift you have .

Check which manufactures offer the size that will work .

The end use of the vehicle factors in as well

decide on which to buy .

The rear is a 3 inch lift with add a leaf and I will have to add a 2 inch block to level it with the front since the from came out taller I can't add the block right now because it only has 1 inch of slack on the shock left

the only thing you can do is some measuring and order the right shocks. You can get bilstein 5125a in different length I think.

Or get ride of you lift and do it the right way. Keeping it under 3 inches.

you have what I have. but i have a 2.5 inch shackle extension for the lift in the rear. whenever i hit a bump hard enough and "jumped", my axle would extend my shocks completely and you'd hear and feel a huge thump from the shock slamming open all the way. I put napa numbers 37032. and never had an issue again. it's 1 1/8 longer than stock with the same mounts.

monroe 65111 is 8 inches longer than stock o_O. not sure if that would work since it kills your compressed travel. which is 17 with our stock being 12.875.

monroe 65112 looks good. it's 4 inches longer than stock! would probably work best for you.

monroe 65114 is 6 inches longer. doubt you need that but your choice. not mine :).

monroe 65122 is.... a foot longer while extended. im just throwing this in here for shits & giggles.

monroe 65415 is also about 6 inches longer.

monroe 65429 is also 4 inches longer.

monroe 66430 is about 8 inches longer.

monroe 66624 is about 5 inches longer.

monroe 66646 is just under 5 inches longer.

monroe 66668 is just under 6 inches longer.

monroe 66670 is about 5 inches longer.

monroe 66714 is about 3 inches longer.

monroe 66811 is about 6 inches longer.

monroe 66841 is about 3 inches longer.

monroe 66860 is about 4 inches longer.

monroe 66861 is about 8 inches longer.

monroe 66863 is about 10 inches longer.

and that pretty much covers every shock that is longer than our stock shock THAT HAS THE SAME EXACT MOUNTING ON BOTH TOP AND BOTTOM.

when I lifted my truck. i searched the books and was satisfied when i found the 37032. right now, i found an easier way to search for longer shocks. and this is the list i came up with. im definitely going with one of these that I listed nwo that I know theres better choices than the 37032.

here's the monroe specification catalog. our stock shocks use an L3 mount on both top and bottom. i just searched all shocks with L3 mounts on both top and bottom and that's the list that's longer than stock. enjoy!

Thanks codeseven! I went for the monroe 66860 with the extra 4 inches since I have decided to get a 3 inch leaf block to be 2 inches higher in the back than the front. I use the truck a lot in construction and constantly adding a pretty good amount of weight on the bed and towing air compressors. Better to be leveled then to look like its sagging I say. That setting still gives me close to 3 inches of travel before maxing out the shocks and lets me load the truck and hits the bump stops before compressing the shocks fully so I wont damage the shocks in case it hits the bump stops

Took some time to work on the truck since I'm currently laid off. But here are some photos :) I added a longer brake line (red) 3 inch block lift and the longer Monroe shocks which still have a perfect 2.5 inches left for travel. I had to add the bilstein decals I had left over from the other shocks though :) the red line I drew in the shock is where the truck sits.
