    Only off roading I do is some mud while hunting.

    Any thoughts I had about a lift have been back burnered as I am not willing to accept the problems which CAN go with a lift.

    Yes indeed you helped with yours.

    If you do add rear lift, the ideal situation is to get difference in driveshaft /pinion angles as close to zero as possible. This might be worth a read before you add lift.

    Id be fairly confident in saying that this is an installation error and possibly some bad axle wrap. I work on school busses that have 3 and sometimes 4 piece drivelines rarely and I mean RARELY the # of driveline pieces an issue. The type of failures I see are either worn u-joints, improperly installed u-joints, bad carrier bearings or seized brakes with a not so sharp driver, which causes breakage or twisting of over 30 feet of drivline
