I drink an Energy Drink every morning.... But my primary drink for the rest of the day is water. Can this still cause them? or is it mostly genetics?

i know the pain of them. i just had them this past july. i didn't know what it was at first. the pain was the worst i have ever had in my life. i had to go to the emergency room because i was in soo much pain and couldn't stop throwing up. energy drinks and soda can really increase your chances of one. i had to endure the pain for 6 weeks for passing even on all the meds they gave me. i never want to get one EVER again!!!

well, energy drinks my doctor said are in general bad for you...they put synthetic shit thats not sposed to be in there..and all that gets filtered through your kidneys and liver..so yeah.

they arent good at all...i had a kid i knew few years back..drank on e of those monstors every single day...he eventually ahd his lung collapse on him and he had to go the hospital...not good times at all..

but so far i have been watching my vitamin intake...yes they can cause them as well..expecially vitamins with alot of calcium in them...so i have been watching my vitamin intake and not drinking nearly as much tea...

and i drink lots of water and cranberry juice during the day...thats REALLY good for flushing out your kidneys

i thought kidney stones were just calcium build up filtered by the kidneys? im afraid because i drink alot of milk. Vitamin D all the way!

anyways, sounds painful, not looking forward to having to go through that one day.

as far as energy drinks, i workd graveyard at a warehouse from 4pm-2am, and school in the morning so i gotta stay up. I average a good 4 monsters a week. maybe 5.

too much calcium alone won't cause the problem, you need something to bind with it to form a solid mass. Too much sodium can cause this, or not enough potassium/magnesium. The biggest thing is to stay hydrated and regulate you diet.

I got my first stone some years ago at 2:30am while living at home and crawled to my parents room crying. It was the worst pain ever. After 3 days of cranberry juice and water I had no luck. My brother and I were camping and got real drunk and ended up passing it while drunk. I did not even realize I passed till the next morning. It was probable one of the best feeling mornings from a night of drinking.

Second stone I got kept me from peeing. I had to go so bad but only got a little out. I guess it was in the way or something. That went on for a few days and did not hurt as bad but not getting releif was just as bad.
