We haven't released pricing on it yet but just for a comparison the FJC version is a roughly 250.00 difference.

Is the aluminum version going to stick out past the grill as much as the steel version? Or less? (I hope less)

The FJ steel is around 110 the aluminum around 50lbs. Actually I think it's 45lbs.

I'm sure you can't go wrong with either one. I just happen to be a fan of @Pelfreybilt equipment.

Here is a picture of mine for reference.

I like the look of the DeMello for sure. Not really scared of the dark so lightbars aren't a huge concern to me. The only reason Pelfreybilt has been a real choice is because they offer it powdercoated white. Not really sure how well it would color match to my truck though...

Powder coat does not cost that much more to have it done yourself. I got a quote of $130-$160 for mine, which is just a tad more than what the companies charge you for it.

I looked at bumpers for months, and I always came back to the demello bumper. I felt that their bumper looked better on the tacoma. It all comes down to personal preference. Like people have stated; both companies have amazing products and outstanding customer service. It really comes down to what you like.

I agree skip the white. It's a little weird and harder to spot cover of needed. If you have a bumper I hope you scrap it up.

Pelfreybilt all the way. I beat my truck to hell and their armor has saved the body on more than one occasion. Plus it looks good and is quality I haven't seen from other companies. Pelfreybilts customer service is untouchable, hands down best people I've dealt with. If you want a badass product that is reliable, done right, and functions go Pelfrey.

I have a Pelfreybilt bumper and think it follows the lines of the Tacoma very nicely.

It is very well made and their powder coat looks the same as the day it arrived. I do think Demello makes a nice bumper also, but as you can see, my choice was Pelfrey.

    Pine flat lake - California

Also If o can chime in on the selection. If I had the newer gem headlights I would have gone Pelfrey. But I personally like demello on the older headlight style.

Good luck with the choice. Both are top notch.

Apologies for the sappiness of this but like I said before I'm new to this forum. I've owned two Tacomas in the past 2 years (the other was 2 wheel drive and that wasn't cutting it). I've always come here when I had questions and the answers are always here. I am from the south east area of Texas and I find little appreciation for Tacomas here (maybe I'm not looking hard enough). Of course I see them driving around but I wish there were guys out here that went offroading because I know the trails are here. There are so many pipeline welders and plant workers with giant diesel rigs, so all you see is diesel die hards that literally hate anything "foreign" and I've always been frustrated with trying to explain the proven tract record of my truck of choice. Shoot, my brother and dad both own F350's. Granted, they are great trucks but I get the vibe they don't understand the ruggedness and the badass package that is the Tacoma. Basically what I'm saying is I appreciate all the Tacoma love here. Yall need to move to SETX so we can all ride and talk Tacomas.
